A fairly small top up shop for me today. Spent £5 in Iceland on loo rolls, kitchen rolls & bread; £2.49 in Mr Ts for Marmite and £6.62 in Ald! on dishwasher tabs (not tried them before but worth a go at £2.69 for 50); some onions, eggs & runny honey. So a total of £14.11. Will update my signature shortly.

    Hi
Can I join this challenge please?
We seriously need to cut back on what we spend on food cos we spend far too much and I'd hate to tot it up and see the final figure.
I'd like to set my Nov budget at

    £230

My month will run from tomorrow to my next pay day which is 26th Nov, we are a family of 3 plus one other on its way in Jan. I don't feel that I'm eating anymore for the bump! But I'm pretty confident my H2B makes up for that - he has a v.good appetite, infact he's greedy!

How do people find best to manage their budget? Do you use an app, notepad or spreadsheet?

    Thanks and good luck!

£45 spent on weekly shop with Sainbugs, being delivered today. That's my weekly shop done, the only thing we will need is a fresh loaf of bread at the end of the week. Not too bad as needed lots of non-food items. Kitchen roll, toothpaste and lots of cleaning stuff.

    So I'm now at £46.55/250.

November cash is now withdrawn ready for groceries :j We managed to save quite a chunk for C*/Jan sale food from the Oct GC ££...and we're hoping to do it again even with Thanksgiving/guests. I've moved the list that says how much extra we've saved for C*/Jan onto the kitchen black board to keep us motivated to go under. :)

We've drawn up our lists from our monthly meal plan using My Supermarket...needing A5da & Te5cos for everything except our cat food which is on an amazing offer at Sain5bury5. We're going to try a new tactic as we're so far from any shops - I'm driving straight by A5da & Tesco5 on Friday as I'm getting a hair cut & will buy then so there's no diesel being wasted to-ing and fro-ing from the shops, & hubby drives to & from work by a Sain5bury5 so that's easy for the cat food when we need it. We usually shop from our meal plan list each week (Fri or Sat ish), but this month we're going to buy everything for the month we can get in date to keep/freeze & just get fresh stuff each week from the local market & farmers market if/when we need it (it'll be milk, fruit & veg only, & it'll mean we totally avoid the temptation from other aisles/offers in the s.markets until our Dec. budget. :T)

Well done to everyone already in their November! :T

Dingdongsaving - that's how I do the shopping generally. Meal plan as much as possible from freezer/cupboards and then buy all the meat, frozen & tinned stuff for the month. Weekly shops are then mainly fruit, veg, milk, yoghurts.

Have managed to do November's meal plan mainly from freezer & cupboards so hoping to come in under budget again this month.

Hello, I'd like to join this month. I've been lurking last month and saving receipts. However I added the receipts up half way through the month and put them on the fire but didn't save the total! So no idea of what to do about budget. Will try for £300[/COLORto include cleaning, toiletries but not DH's beer or DD's birthday takeway..
  • Hi,
    Can I join too please.
    Going to aim for £300
    .
This is for 2 adults and a toddler to include all groceries, toiletries, cleaning products, nappies and eating out (which we have a problem with!)

    Thanks
