I know how it feels! Fingers crossed for a good result next week. My personal experience, after reading others experiences on here, was once they had asked for valuation fee I felt I was almost there, still waiting for formal letter, hopefully the post tom will finally let me relax !

I had a phone call to ask me to pay for it as don't bank with natwest so didn't have bank details. That was 15 days after i submitted my formal application so still early days for you if you only applied Tuesday

the wife has been over her credit card limit a few times this year but always never missed a min payment is this going to be a big issue for Natwest?

It is hard waiting and you cant help thinking the worst, you have got past the first hurdle as your application has gone to underwriters, if it was a major problem they would have said no straight away. They take so many different aspects of your finances into consideration it's difficult to predict what the outcome will be. Its especially hard waiting over a weekend, hopefully someone with more specific experience can put your mind at rest, I just know how it feels, I was in your position 2 weeks ago but things worked out ok so hopefully they will for you.

Most certainly yes. Bad personal financial management will be a concern for the underwriter.

My friend completed a Natwest mortgage application through a Sequence broker 8 weeks ago and hasn't heard anything.

I told her to chase it up and she was told by the broker that Natwest have a massive backlog at the moment.

Judging by some other comments here, I am not sure this is the case and certainly won't be using the same broker!

Depends on each individual case. You rarely hear on MSE of peoples whose mortgages sail through.

Well this got interesting. the application is joint but as my wife has been on an agency contract since July they said they could not take into account her income. However, this week she signs a contract to join the company and go perm. Will this make a difference to the application? I am going ot inform my broker tomorrow..
