Just realised that, whilst I may not reach my new target of under £2k, once I've made the payments tomorrow I'll have reached and exceeded the target I set at the beginning of the year to pay off £5k and still with 3 months to go! Go me! :jDebt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Twiggy you've done so well. You have paid so much off in less than a year, over £6000! You should be SO proud of yourself, especially having also made some overpayments on the mortgage, AND having savings pots for planned spends and events throughout the year :T:T:T Even if you don't meet your down to £2k target by the end of the year, you still deserve a very good celebration! :beer:0

Hi Diaryland!
Firstly, thanks AleMrsT! Of course you're right and if it was anyone else I would be saying the same but as it's me, it's never good enough! But I guess in a good way that keeps me on track!
So I paid £317.99 off the CC on Thursday. Meaning I'm getting close to being under £3k! Plus another £100 will be overpaid off the mortgage this week when the payment comes out!
OH came back from his holiday on Friday with presents and some money left! So now he needs to hop back aboard the MSE Express!
So Sunday was Tough Mudder day! Had a great day although it was very hard going! It was 11.5 miles and at about 2 miles there was an obstacle which involved jumping into ICEY water! My lungs took a distinct dislike to this and felt very tight the rest of the course (well actually they're still tight now!) However I did it, including successfully completing the monkey bars! I was happy with my strength but more work is required on running particularly up hills!
So now it's all back to money saving! Annoyingly put some rubbish out this morning and noticed a puddle, checked the hose which was leaking! I'm hoping it's only been since yesterday when I used it to hose off my VERY muddy clothes! But on the plus side, I have finally packaged up all the CDs which are in my car ready to be posted off which will earn me just over £20! And tonight I WILL put some bits on eBay! I must, I must!!!!
My brain hasn't been completely MSE this weekend so need to sort out the money in my purse as its gotten a bit muddled. So need to work out what I've got to go in the bank.
Right suppose I best do some work as I had Friday and Monday off!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Wow Twiggy well done ! Icy water is a danger to anyone's health as it can cause your heart to actually have issues. I'm glad you are ok!
Well done on getting so close to 3k now. I am following your footsteps. Slowly!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Mortgage overpayment came out today! So now over paid £300! Seems like nothing but it will take years off my mortgage just by making these small overpayments. My emergency fund is also now back up over £500, so feeling positive today! Also exceeded the target I set at the beginning of the year to pay off £5k! So now to try and reach my new target of getting the debt sub £2k! Does mean I need to find £360 per month which I'm not sure is doable at the moment, but I can only try my best!
Finally posted off my CDs - will only earn me about £20 but it all helps! Also FINALLY put few bits of clothes on eBay! Only 6 things but 5 are brand new with tags so hopefully will make me a few pennies! Fingers crossed - although no bids yet!
Also, lodger is back this weekend from his travels and I've just remembered he owes us £150 rent from before he left, we agreed this with his to give him extra to take on his travels. So when he pays that it can go off the CC, meaning its only £310 per month to find! I can do this!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

That's great Twiggy. I should be getting £50 from participating in an online discussion group next Thursday so that's ear marked for getting me toward my stretch target. Things are right this month for us so it all helps." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
