Well done Twiggy, you're still doing so well!! Its great that you had money aside for the tyres. I'm really enjoying christmas shopping this year, knowing that I have money aside to pay for it and I can actually buy presents for people, I couldnt afford to last year and I felt so awful but we're in a much better position now so it really does pay off!

    Hello diary!

Sorry - life (well work!) has been seriously getting in the way recently! I have been trying to keep up on my MSE ways but feel like things have slipped, so I'm back with a bang (okay, maybe just a pop or a fizz!) to get back on track!

Had my xmas party on Saturday and unfortunately had my drink spiked and have £40 gone missing (well I could have spent it for all I know). Have 3 hours hone missing and have no idea where I was but know I was trying to call my boss (who also got spiked but gone home an hour and a half before me although we think we left together on the basis that we both had our coats which she had the ticket for) and my mum. However, I did get home and will just put it down to a lesson learnt. But seriously what is wrong with people? We went for dinner and had a couple of drinks after - me being 29 and her being 44 - so we both know our limits so absolutely no way we were both just too drunk. So scary that anything could have happened to me, but fortunately it didn't and when I got home my OH said I insisted I was fine and just slept it off.

Anyway - enough drama! Back to my normal exciting life - like how I was excited to do a batch cooking session last night! And tonight will be changing beds and sorting laundry! That's more like it!

I'm getting a £300 xmas bonus this year (although will pay tax). Think I'll just put that aside for extra spends over xmas as I really have been hard on myself (although I'm sure not by some people's standards!). Or the alternative is shopping in the boxing day sales for bits for the house - which would also make me happy! It's so nice and festive at the moment, which has made me want to make it more homely once the decorations come down.

I am pleased with my progress this year and next week I cant wait to see the debt figure start with a 1! How exciting will that be?! (See told you I led an exciting life!) Wont be too long until it's gone! And EF and mortgage payments are going up too!

    Happy new year diaryland!

Quick check in from me! Paid more off my debt so officially sub £2k! Don't have exact figure as on my phone but pleased it now starts with a 1 as when I started it was nearly 10!

However me and fb have decided to go to Jamaica in November so that will obviously not be cheap! So may slightly slow up progress but it will be gone in the next 6 months maximum, plus it's interest free.

Can't think of anything else to report other than got a few bargains for the house on Boxing Day (which were on my list!)

    Thanks AleMrsT!

So I've made my first debt repayment of the year - massive £5! This is the reward I get from my bank each month, but it all counts! The bills have mostly come out meaning I've also made my first mortgage overpayment for the year - so up to £600 over paid now.

Went out for dinner last night but OH's dad paid which was a good result!

I'm meant to be doing a 15k mud run in under 2 weeks but have been very lapse with my running recently! Did 2.5k the other day and my legs still ache! But I did sign up to a 10k race in May yesterday as I think it will be a lovely run and was only £7.50. Hopefully I'll managed to get fit by then! :rotfl:

    Morning Diaryland!

So me and OH have booked our holiday! Going to Mexico all inclusive for 11 nights in September so I'll be celebrating my 30th in the sunshine! I had enough in my pot to cover my deposit so just need to calculate how much I need to put aside each month to cover it. I managed to get £40 off each adult using a discount code and £44ish cashback via TCB! So saved nearly £125 which pays for our extra leg room seats (OH is 6'4" and no way I'm sitting next to him for 11ish hours if he's cramped! I on the over hand am only 5'1" so I'll definitely have plenty of room!:rotfl:)

Holiday will mean that my debt repayments go down, but as it's interest free and I am determined to still clear it this year, I'll try not to stress. Oh and obviously the house still needs renovating! Ok - starting to sound like we really shouldn't have booked the holiday! And I've also starting saving the sun holiday tokens for a cheap get away in the summer - probably to Newquay with some friends. Opps! :rotfl:

It was my friends baby shower on Saturday which had already been paid for and presents bought (in the Next sale) so that was a lovely, "free" afternoon.

However I'm annoyed as my brother's gf is very fussy with what she eats (organic, gluten free etc) so I made a special cheesecake for lunch yesterday as was meant to be going to parents only for brother to cancel. Meaning I still haven't given them their xmas presents and I could have made a cheaper cheesecake as all the ingredients did work out expensive, although it was lovely and parents really enjoyed it.

I've started the process of switching my mortgage this morning, so that will save money in the long run as my fixed deal had ended. I feel so grown up sorting out mortgages! :rotfl:

Feeling guilty as I just ordered some clothes! But all massively reduced in the sale. But why do I feel the need to justify? Maybe because I've just booked a holiday! It is free delivery and free returns, so if the guilt doesn't subside, I can always send it all back!

I did get a shock the other day when my friend bought a "bargain" - a small mulberry(?) clutch bag for £135! That is not what I'd call a bargain but apparently it is!
