    Morning diaryland!

Had a good weekend and am hopefully back to feeling positive!

Went to a free "mudder maker" gym class as got 3 guest passes through Tough Mudder. So did that instead of ParkRun as I figured I can run at anytime so should make the most of the passes.

Then popped into town with OH as despite hoping my trainers would hold out until TM they were starting to look too worn and didn't trust that they would make the course! However OH paid for the new trainers so that's a plus.

We had planned to go to the market on Sunday to get some meat from the butcher there, but the same butcher was in town and was doing 4 packs of meat for £10 instead of 3 packs as it was getting late in the day! So got some minted lamb chops, a huge pack of bacon and 24 sausages for £10! We had the chops for dinner last night and I've left 6 sausages out and froze the rest (but split into 6's), split the bacon in two and froze that, plus individually portioned up some chicken breasts which needed freezing and some lamb mince. So our freezer is now restocked of meat!

Went out for dinner with my friends plus our plus ones which was lovely as not often we manage to get everyone together! Did spend more than I intended but I drove so no taxis involved.

Then yesterday was just spent pottering around and going for a run. Plus I actually managed a NSD!

Friend texted me about helping at a party on Saturday which would earn me £20 but I would need to shuffle my day around as meant to be meeting a friend for lunch, so not sure what to do yet. I'll see if I can meet the friend early or later so I can do the party which would then pay for my lunch!

Think that's enough rambling for now!

  • HI twiggy loving your diary and have subscribed!

I think the recommended wait time for a re application is 6 months + or you could try the card matcher on the main site see if you have a chance of acceptance for one?

    ((hugs))

This debt bashing thing is complicated.

    Hi Bad Panda!

Ok I've reshuffled my plans for Saturday so I will be helping out at a party on Saturday and Sunday so that's an extra £40. Think I'll put £20 to the CC, £10 to EF and £10 to house fund. Actually that will mean I'm under £100 away from the aim I set at the beginning of the year to pay off £5,000! Can't see me meeting the revised goal to get debt under £2k by the end of the year, but all I can do is keeping plugging away! I will however reach my goal of overpaying the mortgage by £500 - so if I wasn't doing that maybe I'd get closer to paying off the CC, but as the CC is interest free it seems silly to not overpay the mortgage.

Actually managed a 5 mile run last night! Did have to stop a few times and stretch out my very tight left calf but I didn't walk any so that I actually did run the whole 5 miles! Circuits again tonight! Under two weeks away from Tough Mudder now! I am excited but also cant wait until I can drop my training down a gear as feel like my whole evenings are taken up and don't have time to do all the jobs around the house I want to do. But I will keep up some training as I don't want all my hard work to just be wasted in the long run! Maybe I'll sign up to something else to keep me motivated! Have discussed possibly doing a half marathon with my friend in April but we'll see!

Ok so my OH goes on holiday tomorrow for a week so I really want to try and be productive whilst he's gone although I will still be training so won't have masses of time. But here's a few jobs I would like to get completed:-

    * Ebay - will diarise to do Thursday 24 as this will mean they are on for 2 weekends and end just after the beginning of the month!
    * Music Magpie etc as still not done this and now I'll need to re scan them all to see who pays the most! SORTED AND SCANNED JUST NEED TO POST
    * Bag up penny pot
    * Clean undersheets on bedding DONE
    * Rearrange second bedroom DONE
    * Sort paperwork mountain! KEEP STARING AT THIS BUT NOT HAD THE STRENGTH TO FACE IT YET!

Hmmm, I swear there was more than that! I'll add them to the list if/when I think of them!

So OH has gone on his holidays and the dog has been packed off to OH's mums for the week (work longer hours than OH so not fair to leave the pooch cooped up all day).

Determined to be productive this week! So tonight after my run I'm going to tackle the living room which involves sorting out paperwork mountain and taking a set of draws upstairs into the spare room so I'll rearrange the second bedroom as well. Tomorrow as they give it dry I'll strip our bed and wash all the undersheets and get them on the line - if they don't dry I can always sleep in the second bedroom for one night.

Busy day tomorrow and not sure I'll make timings work but I can only try! Going to a mudder maker class again tomorrow morning which was super hard last week but want to make the most of free pass and TM is fast approaching!

Going to try and not buying anything for dinners this week and just use up things that we have as its only me to feed although I will need salad bits for lunch. Then I'll use the shopping budget to get properly stocked up on bits and pieces again. I could just save it but I'd rather not feel the pressure to stick to budget on weeks when we need lots of everything all at the same time!

Hopefully keeping busy will mean I don't miss OH too much - I know that sounds soppy but as much as I love him, it's also that I'm also not very good at keeping myself entertained!

Changed my mind and decided to book onto my normal circuits tomorrow morning. This will make me less stressed as I'll have more time in between things and also I think I find my normal sessions more beneficial. So yes it cost me £5 but I think it's worth it!

    Hi Diaryland!

I had a very busy weekend! OH messaged me at 6am on Saturday (thanks to the time difference), so I go up and stripped bedding including the mattress/pillow protectors and got it in the machine before going to circuits at 8am. Came back, did a bit of tidying around and then met a friend for lunch (spent £13). Then rushed straight from their to help a friend at a kids party earning £20. Afterwards she bought me ice cream and I was so stuffed I didn't end up having any dinner!

Then yesterday I went for a run, followed by more tidying and then helped friend at another party earning another £20. Then had dinner at my parents and so again didn't need dinner! I also actually sorted out my CDs so I can post them off tomorrow - I think it's only about £21 I'll make but better than nothing! There is one CD which I want to put on the computer so I have a "copy" so I'll pop to my parents after work and do that. I also looked for my ipod whilst I was there yesterday and actually found it! Not sure it's charging properly though so will have to see!

So feel like I had quite a productive weekend! I do have more cleaning and sorting that I want to do, as want to make the most of OH not being here and get the house sorted! However I'm a bit of a flitterer(!) when it comes to cleaning - do a bit here, get bored so do a bit there, so no room seems to get completely done in less than 3 sittings! :rotfl:

Must look back at the list of things I wanted to achieve this week and see what else I need to get done - maybe that will focus me a bit more!

Just realised I didn't do my monthly update - don't have time now but must do tomorrow as pay day Thursday. After that my next monthly update/breakdown will be one year since my LBM! Remind me next month that I've paid over £6k off in one year and so I'm not allowed to beat myself up that it hasn't all gone!

My signature on 16(ish) August was:-
    LBM 16.10.14 - CC -
    £6,652.68 - now £3,708.57
    OD -
    £480.52 - now £0 Next - £436.48 - now £0

    £1,000 EF #31 - £369.40/£1,000 Pay off by xmas 2015 #49 £4,579.35/£5,000 Mortgage overpayments £100

My signature as of today is:-
    LBM 16.10.14 - CC -
    £6,652.68 - now £3,401.87
    OD -
    £480.52 - now £0 Next - £436.48 - now £0

Meaning I paid off £306.70 last month plus made £100 overpayment to my mortgage. So not bad going! I'll be happy if I can do the same again this month (what am I saying - I'm never happy! :rotfl:)

I've still got the £40 I made this weekend to put in the bank but may hold onto it as my "spending money" is normally what OH gives me but as he's on holiday he wont get paid so may have to use that. But once he catches up it will go in the bank. Also have £17.99 surplus in the bills account as everything has gone out now, so may pay that off the CC to get me started for this month!
Four pay days left of this year and to reach my target of under £2k by the end of the year I need to find £350.47 each month - not sure it's doable but still want to try!

However I've finally sorted the CDs out to post off, just need to stick one on the computer so that I have a "copy" and then they can be posted! Plus my best friend has given me her ebay details so that I can list some bits on there. Don't have much to sell so wont be mega bucks but it will all help towards the target! May also sell my bridesmaid dress from last year - it is stunning but I never go anywhere dressy enough to wear it again.

Can't believe next month it will be a year since my LBM! Sometimes I feel super in control of the finances and other times I feel like I'm struggling - strange isn't it!

So just went to pay the £17.99 off the CC but as my latest statement has come in this doesn't meet the minimum payment required. Slightly annoying, but pay day tomorrow so I will pay it off then when I pay a chunk off (£300 according to my budget at the moment but haven't finished tweaking it yet so may change slightly).
