Twiglet (sorry but I call my daughter Leaflet- she could not pronounce her name when little and called herself Leaf) you did so well at that interview - according to the feed back - if you get a chance to debrief with the actual interviewer ask their advice on any short comings - if they say it was a close thing ask them what your shortcomings were - dont just take it was a close thing etc

well done for taking the clothing back many would not have bothered and just left it at the back of the wardrobe - this way you have not spent the money and can always get an interview outfit as and when you need it - again this could be something to look for at a charity shop

    hope today has been good

Thanks so much Aaleigha! And Twiglet is fine (I am only five foot one anyway!) Yes I will definitely ask for feedback.

Pleased I took it back, I will need a black blazer if I get the job/other interviews but the dress wasn't quite the right fit (I was desperate!) so pleased I didn't wear it for the sake of one interview. I was tempted to leave the tags in so I could take it back anyway!!! Naughty me!

Got £9.50 back from my balance transfer fee which I'd forgotten about so that's good!

Off to my best friend's for the weekend, which I'm really looking forward to! Hopefully will do lots of talking, walking and chilling and not to much spending! Going for a Chinese tomorrow night but shouldn't spend a lot else. She's very early days pregnant (shhh its a secret!) so wont be drinking.

Then I've got a first birthday party on Sunday - bought the card a few weeks ago when I was in town from the card factory and a few of us clubbed together for the present so was only £13 and it's something her mummy wants for her.

May not get the chance to post over the weekend, so hope you all have a good weekend.
Oh and here's some cake just because it's Friday! :bdaycake:

    Hi all!
Lovely weekend with my best friend and only spent £13.29! That includes buying a new jumper but I had a £20 voucher so only had to spend £6 and it could do for work if I get the new job! I was also lucky that her parents were staying with her too and they paid for the Chinese on Saturday night - which was lovely of them. I do class them as my second parents as we've been friends for 23 years!

October - re job, I was just lucky that after the email last week I messaged my friends say anyone know of any jobs, and one of their husbands asked a firm he works closely with and that's the job I interviewed for. Very much a case of who you know! Not that I've got it yet, but fingers are still firmly crossed!
Need to call my CC today if I have a chance as they've charged me £27 interest which is nearly what I was paying before the balance transfer! No idea why it's so high so need to sort that out! Yes I have added a couple of bits for work on there but no where near enough to justify that much interest!
I must get to the bank this weekend as haven't had a chance and got some money to pay in which *may* clear the beds and OD! Will be so happy if it does! Depends on how much OH gives me on Friday though. Not only am I hoping this for the purposes of debt busting but also next Monday is my five month anniversary and it would be great to have been able to clear 3 debts in five months!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Off to catch up on some diaries (oh and maybe do some work!!)

  • Hmm I might have to do that too. Definitely worth a try. Thanks for the tip Twiggy.

    Have a lovely day.

So a whole ago my mum picked up an asda receipt off the floor which was worth £2.83 using the price guarantee. Used it tonight as was about to run out. Spent £3.64 so only had to hand over 81p. I then came home and using shopitize, checkout smart and click snap I got £2.26 cash back! Good result!

That is amazing! I really need to get to grips with wombling and the shopping apps. I have shopitize on my phone but it confuses me.

Managed to speak to Bcard re the interest added to my last statement - balance has increased (only due to work expenses) by £100 since my last statement but interest has increased from £7 to £27!

When I spoke to them in October they agreed to decrease my interest from 19.9% to 6.9% on the balance as at that date, with any further purchases being charged at 19.9%. Apparently instead of any payments I make being taken off the purchases first it has been being taken off that balance and has used it all up and so I'm back to being charged 19.9% on the whole statement amount!

However they *are* rectifying this and will credit back the £27 interest as "a gesture of goodwill"! Pleased I spotted this but really hope it is sorted now. At least I know to keep a close eye on them in case it happens again! Also (to look for the positives) I guess I'm £7ish better off because of their !!!! up as I'm now not paying any interest this month!

  • Well done for keeping a close eye on things like that Twiggy. It's amazing how sneaky these companies are. Good for you for getting the money back :)
