I think you must obviously be using the faulty ones for parts and then making a good one up to exchange!! Am I right? No other reason for you to do it really is there. If this is true then you shouldn't put that they are 'brand new' even though it is to the seller you should say they are 'as new'.
If I am right do I get a prize jamie???? Say a free replacement if I need it?? Do you think I am a cheeky so and so?
Exactly, if the psp being sent as a replacement is a repaired one or refurb then its a con, the ad clearly stated a 'brand new one'.0 -
Making up the machines invalidates Sony's warrenty on them though, so after the short warrenty when you first gets it passes, and messes up, Sony won't touch them with a barge pole - happened to me

my explanation for how this works (andI'm probably wrong but here goes) is as follows:
When you report a PSP is bricked.. it works in pretty much the same way as a mobile phone being broken etc etc...
You state you serial number etc over the phone and they send you out a parcel/package to send in your phone for repair.
(obviously your item has to be within it's warranty)
You send off the item including the charger and leads (as his auction actually confirms you need to)
And then in a few weeks you get your repaired/replaced PSP back.
Nothing out of the ordinary with that.
this is where this chap on the auction comes in.
First he gets a faulty PSP within it's warranty, and a working PSP as his starting point.
He phones up Sony and gets the "package" they send out to send the fault item off in... but he doesn't send it off - he just keeps it.
Then the auction takes place, he gets your details and phones up Sony to get another "package" sent out. In the meantime he sends you the working PSP in it's box etc and you (at your door with the courier) put in your old one and that goes back to him.
So now you have your new PSP which was actually a one he had to start off with. He now has two fault PSP's (the first one he started with and yours)..
he sends off the first one using the first package he had from Sony and they will in almost all cases send him a new one... so now he has a new one and your faulty one.
the next auction goes through and the process repeats itself.
The main thing is.. the serial numbers and warranty information is only checked by the people who you phone to get the package sent out in the first place.. The actual repair department is a totally different place (sometimes a different company) they don't check any of that... as long as it comes to them in the offical "repair/replace pacakge" that's all they need to check..
So basically - if you have a in-warranty PSP - he's making £40 doing something you can do for yourself.
Whereas if your's is out of warranty - then he is doing you a favour BUT obviously Sony are then sending out a replacement PSP to replace a PS they think is in warranty but is in fact not.
That's how it's done (I think)0 -
