MCZ have been suspended from MCS as of 13 October 2014 following 4 incident where stove glass doors have shattered.

haha brilliant. I swear I'm destined to not have any heat source in this house.
It may be a short term thing but I doubt they will be back on the scheme fast without proving the issues are not their fault.
What does that mean to the people that already have them and need the RHI payments>0 -
Lol. Seems a bit drastic for four broken boilers."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0

The letter isn't much help really is it? It's not clear whether installed boilers can continue to claim RHI or not. It's pretty clear that new installations won't be eligible for RHI until the suspension is removed.
Given how toothless it appears MCS and HETAS are, it's good to see some action on a safety matter. Nothing like cutting off the cashflow to incentivise the manufacturer/importer to sort the problem.0 -

Delighted to hear that MCS is for once taking strong action.0 -

F***in h**l chill out.
Four boilers out of the thousands fitted is not a big deal especially when the fault is the installation not the product.
The problem is you don't have to use a approved installer and people try and save money by using Joe blogs plumbers who havnt got a clue."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -

It should be pointed out that MCZ are blaming installers but these installers would have to be MCS accredited ones.
MCS say "At this stage of the investigation, MCS and BRE are not in a position to determine whether the incidents were as a result of a product, installation or user fault or a combination of more than one of those factors."0 -

Why would they have to be MCS accredited installers? Oh yea they wouldn't !
Derp...

Doing a bit of research of 16000 boilers sold, 4 have broken due to there not being a regulator fitted on the flue."talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish" - Euripides0 -
So it's the draft stabilizer thing that was missing on the few that broke?
I was going to try and speak with MCS to see how long they expected the suspension to last but I don't expect anyone I spoke to there would know what I was going on about....
Cheers,
