I actually think Emmap, SSM and SFSB enjoy goading people and stirring things up....should they be allowed to do this unchecked...should we all agree with the nonsense they peddle?

lets stick to the facts please....:)

looks like you've been sucked in BB:(

I was agreeing with SFSB that we shouldn't write things and get ourselves banned. We have lost lots of people that way.

It wasn't aimed at you Locarr. I try to not take you too seriously as you do like to stir up debate and have strong opinions too. And no one has to agree with anything.

Not sucked in to nothing Locarr, don't have time to be getting in to debates about other folks jobs, welfare or otherwise. I'm not qualified, I don't receive any benefits and thank the heavens for everything I have.

Anyway good night all working at 7am again

Take it as a positive, at least you remembered you had to check it! :rotfl::rotfl:

If it works I am going to set up an alarm on my phone for 26 days time. That will give me 48 hours if I have forgotten to use it. ;)

Yes I have total respect for anyone that is in the armed forces but if either of mine had wanted to join up I would have done everything in my power to stop them :o
Those lads and lasses are just going from one war zone to another as we are 1 step behind the yanks. I have no idea what they get paid but I know it would be no where near enough for me to risk my life/limbs/mental state.
I go to work and it never enters my head that the person I am talking to will be dead/airlifted out/lost his legs etc by the end of the day.
I mentioned the other day about the horrors on the news well these lads/lasses are seeing it  and yes I do know they signed up for it but I dare bet there would be very few of us if any would swap them never mind the time away from their families.

What would you say they are worth ?

My DS1 is still set on joining up after uni:eek: I don't like it but I won't stop him.
In some cases......like my OH, who for want of a better phrase, was a bit of a bad lad as a teenager, there's not a lot of other options.
He spent some time in 'special school' for bad boys. Not something he's proud of but he did some petty stuff that got him in trouble and it was his best chance of a proper job/career. And he did have a great career. It could have been very different.
Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of benefits to it, not least that's it's the best career training you can get.

Yes, there's a chance you could pay the ultimate price. The time spent apart for families Isnt easy either. I can't explain very well how you accept that.......you just do. You know what my OH has been through, but he will sit here and say he wouldn't change his chosen path. And I've never spoken to anyone in his position who's said different.
