Moving the topic on, who is your favourite bread supplier or even what is your favourite type of bread from NI?

A Wheaten Bannock from the Cookie Jar home bakery in Newcastle is definitely my favourite.

    Salad cream is OK though?

I've become terribly European on that and prefer mayo. :p

Love mayo, did go off it once when I heard about what KFC were using for Mayo following an employees dismissal.

    From Wikipedia:

Bannock is a variety of flat quick bread or any large, round article baked or cooked from grain. When a round bannock is cut into wedges, the wedges are often called scones. But in Scotland, the words bannock and scone are often used interchangeably.

Yes I heard about that but as I never go into KFC I didn't have an issue. Twice in 20 years I went and both times I found the product disgusting. Very unusual for me because I'd eat sh1te with sugar on it.

Just to clarify if making a sandwich with lettuce it has to be bread lightly buttered, ham with salad cream, lettuce, ham and then bread?

No Cotta..... Where's the barrier between the salad cream and the Lettuce here???

bread lightly buttered, ham with salad cream, ham, lettuce and then bread..... you see the Ham barrier to keep the lettuce protected from going soggy.

Alternatively if only using one slice of thick ham

bread lightly buttered, salad cream, ham, lettuce and then bread..... again.... Ham barrier to keep the lettuce protected from going soggy

Now go forth and make ham and non soggy lettuce sandwiches !!
