Well the MOT and service came to £350. I was reasonably happy with that.
Finally got the car back yesterday, and on the way in to work this morning the clutch appears to have gone. Many a tear has now been shed
. It's been iffy since I had the car, but it looks as though that's it now. Not the biggest surprise, but just about the worst time it can go.

I've finally sorted out my payment targets for this month. Even more ambitious than last month!
Especially due to the car bills. It looks as though the clutch repair is going to be another £300 ish _pale_ It cost me £15 to get a taxi to nursery the other day . I had to do that though, as the 'fine' for late pickup would be more than that, and I have to get 2 buses.
I've had some good sales recently, so need to sort out some payments. I'm also trying to get a load listed today to try and clear some stuff.
I've been doing my Christmas shopping today, and have managed to sort most of the main things now. One more proper gift to get, a couple more things for DH, then it's just chocs etc.
I've managed to combine two gifts with a mystery shop. One of the items was cheaper there anyway, and with the payment I'll get for doing the MS, the other will be almost free :T Pleased with that. I'll have to hope that DH will give me a lift though as obviously I am carless and it's in another town. If the worst comes to the worst I'll get the bus though, it still will work out cheaper."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". ARGGGHHH - I completely missed the post where you said you had a new diary - I wondered where you were.
I will catch up on your diary this evening but meanwhile, can I pick your brains on car-bootiness? Would you say that doing a car boot on the Sunday before Christmas is a good or a bad idea? Will there be a lot of shoppers about do you think, interested in buying winter clothes / some gift-type stuff, books etc?
Ta very muchly and see you later. I'm so pleased you are still around on MSE. :j0 -

Hey P&F, lovely to see you!
I'd say it will be worth having a go. The one I go to most (and I think the one you go to is similar) is very busy for buyers year round. There might not be many sellers so that means you'd do even better!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hey everyone
Not been around much as it's been such a faff not having a car. You forger about how much you rely on it!
I've spent a fortune on buses and taxis over the last week or two. So no real payments made.
I now have the car back and lovely DH has paid this bill which means I'm not quite as screwed as I was. The only not so good news is that it wasn't actually the clutch, but the part that was gone tends to go when the clutch is going, so the mechanic said not to be surprised if it does go fairly soonThat will be roughly £400 odd, so I'm going to have to see if I can get that put away somehow. God knows how!
Sales have been plodding on quite well. A couple more things have sold overnight. I am running out of cash though so will have to keep this money towards Christmas.
I'm semi organised for Christmas, still got a fair bit to get though. I need to make a list. I haven't started tidying and decorating the house yet though.
I've got a couple of days off next week so will try and get organised then and over the weekend.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Thanks, Jwil. I may give it a go, I'll have a rummage this weekend and see if there is enough stuff to make it worthwhile.0
