  • A bit of lighthearted fun, I'm sure. Amusingly accurate, nonetheless:

The furthest South part of Q3 is Morley. If you ain’t local, and you’ve never had sexual intercourse with someone who is a family member, they won’t like you. Visiting places such as Morley Markets and the White Rose Centre will give you a taste of what kind of creatures dwell in darkest South Leeds.

    Made me chuckle :T

Spirit - if you want to get an idea of the 'flavour' of an area google coal mine. Eg lots in the Rothwell/Oulton area, nada in Yeadon. South Leeds is in the West Yorkshire coalfield.

Shows the last time you ever went South of the River then.
The last coal mine closed 9th of December 1983.

About shows your Knowledge on the subject, BNP stronghold with no Candidates and mucky pits full of dirty working class people that shut 31 years ago .

Aha, that's really useful, thanks Errata. It would be a case of things turning full circle - if I buy in the town where my grandparents lived in the 60s!

I'm going to ask a question now that is probably fairly typical of us softie southerners!

I really can't stand the cold weather. Are winters really harsh there? Do you get snow often?

On the odd occasion when we get snow here, the roads are clogged with traffic and life seems to come to a standstill. It could be that the councils here are just not prepared for it and don't act fast enough when snow/ice is forecast?

    thoughts please?

Same climate, same weather, same problems :D

I've not really noticed any major differences in weather (and how people cope with it) from when I lived in the south to where I live now.

As someone who has lived in some of the most deprived areas in both Leeds and Bradford, there are far worse places in the world.

Spare a thought for the millions who can't find clean water, never mind off-road parking.

    Best of luck.

Just lost all credibility there IMO, what a ridiculous question!
