That's a beggur trev, hope you get the money back. When I've had an occasional problem it's been rectified quickly and successfully.
We're going to go to Melbourne as a road trip which will be fun. Drive most of the way on Friday, then finish off the journey on the Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon and evening at the cricket, a spot of dinner and then drive back on the Sunday. We're really looking forward to it. Thanks so much.

When the drawer opens the money's weighed, so the machine knows it was empty.
There'll also be film of angry customers looking horrified.
I once put my card in an ATM to get some cash out and it just beeped and flashed for several minutes. Pressing cancel had no effect, and the queue was building up behind me. Horrible feeling, and I couldn't leave as it had my card and I had put the PIN in so it had access to my account. Eventually it returned my card and I could escape.
Couldn't figure out what I should have done if it just hung on to my card and kept on beeping for any longer.:o
I have had a machine try to deliver money then deliver nothing and give me my card back. When I checked my account online it showed the money coming out followed by a refund so it seemed to have sorted itself out. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Which is why I'm glad? it was me. I can't imagine the state I'd be in if I was someone who needed that money for buying food and essentials. That's a beggur trev, hope you get the money back. When I've had an occasional problem it's been rectified quickly and successfully.

That sounds really great. I can assure you it's been a pleasure. Who knows England might even win? :rotfl:0 -

Used Nationwide debit card at NatWest asked for £300 draw opened, no cash! Checked machine wasn't 'compromised' and tried again for £50 which it duly delivered. Checked my phone and both amounts had been debited. NatWest weren't interested as the machine had delivered the second amount, and told me my account would probably be credited that night, and if not to contact Nationwide.
Next day (of course) missing amount hadn't been credited, so trip to Nationwide. I was wondering what reaction I'd get? It seems (although not a common occurrence) failure to deliver cash does happen. They've put a claim in to NatWest but said it may take 14 days for the money to be credited. A week on and still no sign of it!
I'll let you all know what happens.
Good luck Trev. Like Gen I've also had this - twice - with a cash machine in my local NatWest. Both times I've told them and it has been credited back. As I was using a NatWest bank card in a NatWest bank it was credited back the following day. They had a good system in place for picking it up and they could work out who was owed money. I hope your refund (if that's the right word under these circumstances) comes through soon. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I came on to post that there is a new series starting this week - Tiny House Nation on More 4 starts next Wednesday and is about the design of Tiny living spaces. Whether or not they are truly tiny remains to be seen as this is an American programme. American's regularly look at me as though I'm a little odd when I tell them that my house is just over 800 sq ft and has 3 bedrooms. They have ensuites bigger than my 2nd and third bedroom. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Tbf some of our condos were quite cramped. DH tells me the studio they had in NYC was Very small, and if I have a correct grasp of the current apparent in laws are in in really doesn't sound vast for the vast amount spent on it. Location counts everywhere.0 -

I'd assumed the same i.e they can tally up how much has been paid and see what's left over as an uncollected amount. Apparently it's not so simple as that as G4 basically run the ATM system in the UK, which is why it can take so long to sort it out. Well that's what I was told……where's that rollyeyed thing when you need it!0 -

Fair point re NYC. It looks an interesting programme. Sorry, meant to have posted a link. Here goes...

I should have mentioned that the programme is called Tiny House Nation, which certainly the US is not (as a whole). However respect is due to anyone who can live in 150sq ft as is the programme 1 scenario. 2 of us used to live in 364 sq ft and that was small enough. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? G4S. How confidence inspiring:eek:
They are probably looking for a few escaped prisoners in the cash machine then...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yes, Americans think that anything 3x the size of our houses is tiny.
My take on designing for tiny spaces is simple: It's not rocket science, I can design the tiniest of spaces wonderfully .... however, most people live in small spaces because they don't have money for bigger spaces - and the cost of bespoke designing of tiny space solutions is exhorbitant.
If you are in a small space you probably don't have any budget to change that and build solutions....0
