Leftie and Righie? Do they have separate personalities...oh perhaps you were still talking about your parents?

    Or differing political leanings?

Cheers, but I've always been a funny foot size. My feet are not the same width - and I've always needed a wide fit. And I'm now an odd size. I used to be a nice, simple, 4½, but when it all changed to Euro sizes, it seemed to coincide with shoes sizes not being relied upon. So I'd not know if I were a 4, 5, or 37, or something else, unless I could try them on.

With wellies, IMO its always worth erring on the large side because they don't fit like other shoes and you can wear wells socks with them. All my boots are a size too big on purpose so I can cope when my feet are swollen AND wear well socks! or just wear two pairs of well socks. Other times my feet just slosh around in them :):o

Indeed. And he's not just an entrepreneur, either. He's had other careers too. Don't forget he's a qualified teacher who rose to be Head of Science at the age of 23 or something, before leaving teaching for more lucrative pursuits.

I know a mother of twins who did it and said it was fine, although you do have to drink a lot of fluids. She was a SAHM, though - I'm not sure you'd be able to pump enough if you were going back to work and expressing.

Well, yes, maybe, but... I say "my dad" without intending to imply that he's only my dad or to negate the similar claims that my brothers have to call him their dad too. Even when LNE was alive I also said "my son" and "my daughter" without intending to imply that I produced them unaided or that they weren't also his, and indeed ours. Isn't that the same?

Not that I am denying that splitting parents do frequently ignore the other parent's claim to a relationship with the children. LNE and I weren't like that, though. Even when our relationship with each other was over we worked very hard at being good cooperative co-parents of our children, regardless of the possessive pronouns we used to describe them.

Ex took it to another level....he used to say YOUR son when one of them was being naughty!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

But, if I end up walking 3 miles on roads in them (e.g. if it's particularly wet outside and I want to walk to town/back and need waterproof shoes) .... I might get blisters if they're too floppy. So I'd want to be able to use them for walking in the wet - and not just sitting by the front door in case I'm ever flooded.

Yes, I walk in mine. IMO you'd be better spending a wee bit more or getting fleece insoles. Decently lined wellies ( I'm not talking the really expensive ones, by the way) are much more comfortable for walking, I wear muckers over wellies, and go for lined ones every time and will NOT spend money on them. I even had a great pair from lidl.

Btw m wish me luck, I feel really super today so decided I'd have some food. I had seeded toast and raw nut spread. These are both kind of risky choices, but what we had that took no time and effort and looked good. Cup of cardomon tea ( which I don't have in the middle eastern way, I have with no sugar).

This goes well.....I might try getting some mussels tonight :)

Good luck. Your diet seems to lack pies and chips. These are essential nutrients!

Good luck. Your diet seems to lack pies and chips. These are essential nutrients! I had pie 3x last week :) As I now have a freezer I bought a family sized steak pie and cut it into piggy-3-parts... it was ready baked, so I microwaved each portion and served them with mash, peas and gravy. I could buy it as I knew I could lob it in the freezer if I wanted/needed to.

You know what? You've inspired me.:D

If i we have mussels tonight I'll sort some fine cut frites for fir. He likes chips. :D

Hmm. Rethinking. We'll have mussels tomorrow I think instead and dunno what tonight. Um.....will have a look see.

Nearly 30 minutes on hold to HMRC. Nothing to do with SA so it shouldn't be a 'time of year' thing.

I can't put the phone down for fear that they finally answer it. Or another 30+ minute wait. This is all their fault. If they got stuff right, they wouldn't have so many people calling them. And when you do call, you're not allowed to speak to someone who knows anything.

I wrote to my MP who wrote to the chief exec who wrote me a letter to say sorry, three months ago. Still not fixed.

I got to 38 minutes. The letter I have just received is wrong, despite it being dated after the last conversation inhad where it was apparantly all sorted. There is now another letter in the ether that is right - this time for both me and HM. Happily, this is probably the best outcome for that conversation, despite it still being a waste of time.

While I'm in the mood for complaining, when did the use of 'myself' become so prolific? No one speaks like that so why do they think it's the correct way to write?

Letter from teacher reads "My self and the pupils...". Surely, it should be "The pupils and I..."

It's like a virus. People do it when they want to talk 'properly', except they're not. It makes me cringe. Incorrectly educated people trying to talk 'posh'.

As you were. I'll try and catch up rather than litter the thread.
