We have the clock in our car (and my watch) a couple of minutes fast on purpose.
I try to do that too, but it loses gradually.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Me again - sorry to be hogging the thread a bit this afternoon.
I've been browsing taps. I've now got some specific questions:
Does anybody have one of those kitchen taps where there's a bit you can pull out that turns into a hose and means you can squirt in different places? Does it work? Is it worth having? How often do you find yourself using it? Are they prone to go wrong?
Thanks.
PS Any other tap choosing tips appreciated as well.

Strange, mine insists on being 1 minute slow in spite of resetting. I've given up now, but I hate clocks that are slow. A few minutes fast I can deal with, but slow... urrrrghhhh.Helpful Builder has just sorted out a few small problems for me, but says that the slow leak on my kitchen tap is beyond repair. He has put it back together again, so it is usable for the week, and I am to choose and buy a new tap for him to fit when he comes back on Saturday.
I have never chosen a tap before. Do the NP have any advice of how I should go about choosing, places I should look, brands I should avoid, or issues I should take into consideration???
I have a Franke which was bought with sink in sale and they are a great brand. My Dad is unwell at the moment so don't want to ask him (he does plumbing) but generally says buy taps with ceramic discs rather than cheap ones with washers. That's all I've got I'm afraid. The other points are obvious: make sure you buy one for the number of holes in the sink and make sure that it fits the footprint (eg if there's a bit at the back that it doesn't hit the wall, I got caught out buying a tap for my bathroom basin doing this:o), and make sure that the neck moves if you've got a double sink (I think they mostly do this now but I am not an experienced tap buyer).
This one's nice:

No, but have looked at them lots. In a modern kitchen ( I.e. More modern than mine would be really practical. Have even toyed with the idea for utility for walking terriers with but decided the style was compromise ing for me. I'd use all the time for rinsing and washing sink.....what a boon, besides any practicality of other practicality. I'm sure I've used taps like this long ago, but cannot think where.0 -

Thanks. That's just the sort of advice I was hoping for.

Well, I think it would be useful, but never having lived with one I can't tell if it's one of those things that ends up being more trouble than it's worth.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Thanks. He's been diagnosed with C this week, which has been a bit of a shock but the prognosis is very good as caught early and not in a very bad place.
The irony is he never goes to the docs, but under the new scheme where you have your own doc when you are 65, he went in for something minor and the doc said "well as I never get so see you, I'll run some tests" and found it. Amazing. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Oh no viva. Extra good wishes to you and him in that case. Hope the prognosis continues to be good. Having caught it early can only help that.0

Ah viva, I suppose that is the best way to find bad things - before they cause problems, but still, hugs to you.
