Ketone Slim XT - Avoid!

I just recently bought these products, and I didnt know about the hidden charges until now, I emailed them but the email address that they supplied me with doesn't work, do I still have time to get a refund? It hasn't been 24 hours since I paid and I also haven't received my tracking number. Thank you!0

Hi surah,
Read through the terms and conditions very carefully on the website you purchased from. There will be instructions in there somewhere of how to cancel, just make sure you keep copies or recordings of any cancellations so you have proof. Call your bank and ask them to put a stop on the CPA (continuous payment authority).
Do it now! Time is of the essence!0 -
Thank you so much!
As soon as I bought it, I started to do some research into it and then 2 seconds later I find this. You literally saved me from being charged £90!
After reading this, I rang up the company and demanded they take me off the order and when I mentioned that they don't charge me extra, the women literally laughed! Like they had been caught!
I am shocked and appalled by what I have just experience!
I am taking your advice and going to see my bank and ask them to monitor my account.
Thank you again!0 -
I also fell for it. I did look it up before ordering but only found this thread after they had taken the first payment. Another one is pending for the other product, which I thought was part of the same offer.
All is the hand of the Dispute/Fraud team at my bank. First time this happened to me. Really annoyed at my stupidity! The bank gave me the company's direct number: 08081890167 as well as Trading Standards 08454040506. Fraud Action is not interested as this is a consumer issue.
I hope someone forced them to be clearer. Shocking how they can expect people to pay almost £200 per month for a year after ordering a 'free' trial.
I don't understand though why they can say on the order form that they would be happy to offer a full refund within 30 days and not to do? When I questioned that with the company they told me it didn't apply to a 'trial'???
Any other avenues I could explore to try to get my money back?
Thank you0 -
Hiya,
I'm no expert, but have a really good read through their t&cs, the site I purchased through had two sets of cancellation instructions, one for the trial and one for standard purchases.
Unfortunately there's probably not much you can do if you didn't pick up on it within the first 7-14 days, they will cling to their t&cs like no tomorrow!
Sorry I can't be of much help, just make sure the bank don't let them take any further payments and if possible refuse any further packages from them.0 -
In that case there should have been an asterix or something to indicate that the 100% refund does not apply to the trial. In effect, it will never apply since they are selling it as a trial.
I don't even remember I had to click on 'I read the T&C' before going ahead with the order.
An another I recently learnt, the 14 days limit, according to British regulations, is from the day you receive the goods. Not from the day you ordered.0 -

That is the period during which you can cancel an order under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
That period is extended up to a year or more if they failed to supply the right documentation.
Did you buy from a British company?0 -
I have just realised that I have also been a "victim" - two payments of £79.50 taken out of my account. Needless to say I will be speaking to my bank tomorrow and Trading Standards on Monday. I am also going to ask my banks legal dept to look at this. they have an address in Linlithgow and I am quite prepared to go ther if necessary!! ...watch this space....0

I feel so stupid for falling for this scam...
Thanks to all the advice on this site though I phoned them within minutes of ordering and got mine canceled before they were even sent. I hope I don't recieve the product and any further charges like the customer service person on the phone promised...
The email they supply doesn't work and you cannot reply to the email so don't even try
That's a waste £10 I could have used...0 -
Elisha,
Find their address and send a recorded delivery letter (it may be in their t&cs) also check that they do not require you do do anything else to cancel within their t&cs.
Also call your bank first thing monday and tell them what has happened to others on here and make sure there is no CPA set up.
If you can't find an address use a call recording service (do a google search) and use that to record the call so you have proof of the cancellation.
I've (touch wood) never had any further correspondence from Ketone Slim XT, I cancelled by email immediately after initial order, and phoned my bank the day the £80 came out, they refunded the 80 plus the original postage, and I still have the tablets here. I expected to receive something from 'them' in the post or by email (as I had been told I needed to return the tabs and they would email me the RMA and returns address) but not heard since.
Cancelling with you bank should be enough as it seems they do not chase further, but do have a thorough read through the t&cs and make sure you do everything to the letter.
Good luck!0
