Slow Laptop, C drive almost full, moving things to D Drive? how can I speed it up?

you've also got some Symantec (i.e. Norton) process running too, will probably conflict with avast, try the norton removal tool

lesley, now you've disabled the startup items, have you rebooted the machine and checked task manager again?

plus, the reminder notification to create your recovery disks is in the ccleaner list - have you burned your recovery disks yet? If not, you'd be well-advised to do so....

So I'll uninstall Norton and McAfee then. I don't have any recovery disks, not sure what to do here?

There's quite alot of Programs running, should I delete any of these from the screenshots above?

no, you need to use the removal tools to remove them cleanly, just uninstalling will leave hangover bits behind

as long as you reboot after disabling from startup in ccleaner as previously advised, then check task manager and screenshot again...

Ok thanks GunJack, I'll use the removal tools as said and post another screenshot in a few hours as I've to go out
