In the process of switching to VM for broadband & phone line only, and tried to follow this step:
"it's cheapest to opt to pay £184 upfront for a year (equivalent to £15.33/mth). To pay upfront, sign up, then call 0800 064 3840 once your installation date's confirmed and request the 'Line Rental Saver' option"
I was told this can't be done until the line is actually installed - but surely I will have paid for the first month by then? Anyone else experienced this?0 -
I've just left Virgin Media after twelve months. When my broadband worked, it was great, but, unfortunately, my laptop kept disconnecting every few minutes which was a real pain. This issue only affected my laptops, not my iPad - probably because the iPad supports 5G, whereas my other devices don't. I called Customer Services several times, but the problem kept recurring.0

I have signed up for the VM fibre and line rent deal advertised on MSE, but so far VM haven't allowed me to pay the line rental upfront. My installation is due on 25 Feb 2017 and I tried calling the number on MSE (0800 064 3840) to be told that they couldn't help and I'd need to speak to the new customer team. The new customer team then advised that I have already agreed to pay line rental monthly with the cost of my broadband. I explained that I wanted to pay it upfront - the "line rental saver" option (mentioned in the VM terms and conditions) but they said that I would have to wait until after installation and then call customer service.
Has anyone else successfully managed to get this deal?

Be Aware of the eContract Coming through not conforming to prices agreed by phone.
Signed up to the £25pm SuperFiber 50 Package
Should include: 50mb Broadband & Home Phone Weekend Calls
With Free installation & AC Router.
Contract came through at £32.25pm
There was an activation fee of £14.99 added on which was not included in the price quoted on the phone.
The engineer installation which was waivered on the phone, was then included on the contract.
Phone was not included on the contract.
Had to call to get this put back to the original quote. of £25.00 pm.
Referral Bonus
Also FYI there is a £50 referral bonus to both the new contractos account, and your referrer. (£100 bounus total). So well worth finding someone on Virgin Media already and just mentioning their name & address / account number etc, and you both get the Referral Bonus.
This either pays for 2 months Broadband, or, 10 months upgrade to the 100mb Broadband package, (£5 per month extra on top of the 50mb package).0
