Another misnomer? VM don't do fibre, and I doubt they ever will. They do co-ax, and this offers currently 160Mb which AIUI beats BT's FTTP offering too.
Yes, I use the service and average 158Mb off-peak and 115-128Mb peak which is fine. Outages in the last 12 months have been few and far between, and the Superhub 2 offering Dual-Band WiFi is excellent.0 -

I had to have a new Virgin phone line, having lost my BT. When I originally arranged to contract for the fibre and phone deal, I managed to get an all inclusive deal for the phone, which meant I can have free phone calls everyday and night for an extra (at that time £3.40) including Virgin mobile. Non virgin would be charged. Since most tradesmen these days only use their mobile, it is most unlikely their number is a Virgin one, so I get charged. I was getting a monthly bill of over £40, so I queried this and since I have been with Virgin for 20 years I negotiated an l8month new contract for £28.49 p.month as loyalty customer. According to MSE my 18 months should only cost £336. whereas my cost will be £513. Am I still out of pocket?0

I have just moved flat and signed up to the advertised deal (line rental £16.99 plus £4.99 for 50mb on a 12 month contract). I used the official uSwitch deal links and webpage so it should have worked.
It didn't work.
Virgin arranged for an installation date that was 3 weeks away! Called up but they insist they have nothing sooner.
The contract has just arrived and it states a minium term of 18 months. The price is correct for the first 12 months, but then it shoots up by over £12.51/month for the next 6 months (which if I sign the contract I will have to pay).
I called Virgin up and they stated that the contract is for 18 months and if I don't like it I can cancel. I informed them that I had taken screenshots of the offers throughout my sign in process (I anticipated Virgin mucking this up) and asked to speak with a manager. No manager spoke to me, I was placed on hold for a long time. Eventually the call operative came back on to inform me that his manager would change my contract to 12 months and reissue a contract for me to sign. I now await that new contract.

I've seen posters in the VM forums complaining about these underhand tactics. They probably will send you a reissued contract but the likelihood is that it will still say 18 months! I signed up for this contract a couple of weeks ago through uSwitch. Contract arrived with the correct price and for 12 months as per the deal. I also got a £50 credit applied to the account after reading about a voucher code.
I also received an email just after signing up which also stated 12 months contract - what did your email say?
Router arrived as scheduled and installed via Quick Start on 22nd October. Now receiving 75mb after a speed upgrade from 50mb to 70mb yesterday.
So no issues at all.0 -
I'm a BT customer coming to the end of a 12-month Infinity2 deal. I currently pay for Unlimited Anytime which covers weekday calls too.
I'd like to take advantage of the current uswitch Virgin deal [Superfibre 50 + Talk Weekends + line rental for £224/12 months] but was told via a Virgin site internet chat session that it's not possible to add/purchase "Unlimited Anytime calls" as an add-in.
Is this correct because without this, it's a deal breaker for me ?
