Greenbee. I've got an Ecoburn, and love it. I do find it burns better when kept clean, less ash bed than they imply. Mine has two little air holes front left and right, just behind the ridge across the front, and if those get ash covered, it chokes a bit. I think they are air holes... If I brush them clean, it cheers it up. I do like it, find it very controllable, and it stays in overnight very well.

It certainly throws out eyebrow-melting heat when fired up fully.

Thanks Dafty - it was input from you and a 'real life' friend that made me decide on the ecoburn. I thought it was probably a good idea, but wanted to see one in situ to be sure. The tip about the ash has worked :) Much better burning tonight, although I do need to spend some time with an axe resizing most of my logs. Two logs have lasted all evening. The jetmaster would have eaten them in about 10 minutes...

Dave - what a lovely tribute to a life fully and well lived. I doubt many people can say they've made that much difference to the lives of so many people. It just goes to show that it doesn't matter whether you're the caretaker or the headteacher, it's who you are, not your role, that determines what you achieve in life.

    :rudolf:Peace and Good Cheer Daydreamers!:snow_grin

I read we may receive a dusting of snow around Wednesday, but right now it's so warm we have the conservatory doors open to the house and the wood burner is more than coping with an extra 25m
    2.

Pete turned up at dusk with a Christmas present for the sheep: a new bale of haylage and a Toyota worth of swedes. He popped a few of the better ones into a bag for us too, so that's Burns Night sorted, as I found a haggis in the freezer whilst delving for a joint earlier-on! :rotfl:

Hope the spoiled sorts in the holiday rental find a modicum of Christmas spirit or an ounce of common sense, alfie, if only for your sake. Nil carborundum...;)

    hello peeps
hope you have all had a fab xmas, eaten too much, are fartin like goodens [best accolade of good nosh! ] and looking forward to a happy 2018..

I had 24hrs of being "complain" free :j
BUT had a call to go today as they "found" a cat flap in a door and wanted it sealed up.. as dangerous for their toddler  so I dutifully trotted off armed with big roll of PINK [with scottie dogs on] sticky tape and taped it over....yep, they complained that as it was PINK that would attract their toddler to it !! so I picked up a box of wine they had and stood it in front of the PINK cat flap.. stood up, looked at them and nearly said ..."now your toddler will get pithed and not care about the pink flap !!! but I didn't... I smiled, said happy xmas and left........

roll on Thursday when they leave !!

we had a quiet crimble.. son still uber upset over his break up and mum who forgot her hearing aid ... made for entertaining chat over the dinner :(

im hopefully off to a big fat gypsy dinner on new years day..

well, its peeing with rain here and it blew a hooley last night. we have deer going into the open barn eating some hay but that's ok, they wouldn't if they didn't have to :D

new water pipe line to the hoss's coralle is now just in and we have another trough and stand pipe there, we have that heavy plastic mesh stuff on the floor in there [aprox 25'x25'] to stop it becoming a quagmire and it sure works. it also has a field shelter so will be ideal for when tilly drops her young'n :)

I wish you all the best xxx
