Levitation - you'd have managed that alright if you'd have heard the din at the animal rescue place.
I cried. It was so sad to see all the dogs in cages barking their heads off & displaying very stressed out symptoms - It was so sad. Some of the dogs are quite elderly.
I've to have a home visit which they said may be a while as I live so far away.0 -

I know. DD2 did some work at the animal centre where we used to live, walking the dogs and cleaning out etc.
I'd just wait in the car for her....Being a wimp, I didn't go in.0 -
dolly daydream is estimated to be 5/6 years old and she has been a treasure ... it is wonderfull to see her turn the corner and realise she is now loved and FREE ..
recommend an older dog anytime...0 -
Hi Alfie - a lot of these were 9 - 10 years old. I don't know how anyone could bear to part with them - However I don't know the circumstances of how they ended up there.
Rained hard all day - all the drying out is back to wet & mud again.0 -

Someone was commenting on the House Buying/Renting forum about how hard it is to rent now with a dog.
It's maybe OK for the better-off who can put down 6 months money in advance + a larger deposit, but for those on benefits etc it's a real uphill struggle to get anywhere that'll take them, let alone consider an animal.0 -
Put up a nest box yesterday.
This morning, blue tits are going in with nesting materials!
I thought they were supposed to suss potential nest sites out first? :huh:0 -
Our rescue dog has been a treasure, she was 7 when we got her, skinny, timid and scarily wlel behaved. Now she is loveable, much fatter and acts like a puppy! We can't be angry when she steals food or rips something up as it is such a change from her behaviour before where she didn't dare move and cringed at every loud noise. She is having cuddles with me on the sofa right now
We're going to ask our Landlord if we can have a second rescue as there is a beautiful Mastiff the same age as Tia who needs a good loving home for his last few years.0 -
That's so nice to hear Chesapeake. I hope you get the Mastiff - beautiful dogs.
It's rained so hard today it's jiggered the starting to dry out sort of ness. Everything back to sloppy mud again.0 -
my original plan when I had the 2 elderly labs and bimble JR , was that when my darling labs went I would adopt / foster old rescue dogs to give them a few good years that they had left ...
which of course all went to pot cos I ended up with mop head asbo dog and then dolly daydream !!
now ages being .. bimble 12, dolly 6/7? , asbo 5.. so a bit to go before I add to the mob now !
but I thoroughly recommend to anyone to open their heart and home to an older dog, they get overlooked and are far more in need.
get off my soap box now:rotfl:
