Congratulations! :j Rather you than me today in that biting wind!

Just looked across the valley and counted 37 tractors coming down the lane on the other side, one after the other, all with their orange lights flashing. There may have been more, but those are the ones I saw.....

Sure glad I wasn't out in the car, trying to go in the opposite direction!!!

Congratulations - I will miss lambing this year as I didn't put a ram in.

The prices were so desperately low that I just didn't want to have it all for so nothing return.

Lovely day really, but cold, but got quite a lot of wood sawn & stacked - always satisfying.
Neighbour from Hell get's his dogs to chase the wild goats over the fence btw us - it's so blubbery annoying. Then I have to chase them down the bottom of the croft or they will bark all the trees & eat the shrubs.
  • Aww lambs are so damn cute... very tasty too haha. There are lambs in the field next to the brewery I'm working in and I go and talk to them when I need a break from the insanity inside.

We had a really good 3.5hrs at the allotment today, although it was totally overgrown with grass, dock leaves, nettle etc many of the beds had actually been covered with wood/carpet/plastic so when we peeled it all back we found lovely soft, well dug earth. Lots of potatoes too!

We met a few little mice too which scarpered quite slowly until the dog went to say hi!

Sounds like you two had more fun than me. I spent the whole afternoon dressed as a loose woman, complete with the usual massive accoutrements, which actually made things rather tight on the inside.

I think it was what's called a 'technical rehearsal, where we find out what does / doesn't work. In my first scene I soon found out. I sidled up to the bar in the saloon and demolished all the beer bottles, as I'd forgotten to allow an extra foot or so for my bust.:rotfl:

Apart from that, I was banned from further use of the microphone and I corpsed about 1/3 of my words, so it really wasn't too special. :(:o

In other news, I won a fishing rod on the Bay tonight :j, and I managed to sneak down and lock the hens up without the sheep spotting me. I've been feeding Horse Woman's old haylage to them, and although it's ancient, they love it. Consequently, every time they see me, they now rush across the field bleating madly and I have pangs of guilt when I leave them without the goodies.

You sound like you are making a good job of clearing the allotment there - where abouts are you Chesapeak?

Dave I feed our sheep haylage & they love it, but I doubt I could get them back on ordinary hay without protest. If you feed sheep they will hassle you whenever they see you - mine stand opposite the house and stare at me if I haven't fed them exactly when they expected me to. They stare in such a way it burns into your soul - well, that's probably just me....

Blowing a hooley here & the Loch looks rough. Too windy for outdoors stuff.

The panto rehersals sound like they are .......coming along Dave???
  • Choille - we're in Cornwall, I moved down from Somerset to study Mining Engineering 10yrs ago and bar a year working in Oz I've never left for more than a few days! The majority of my future aspirations are based around having a plot of land and access to a beach for fishing :)

Cornwall - sounds lovely - mining engineering.

Had an old friend - sadly no longer with us who was a mine manager from Cornwall - tin - I think, then he went out to Africa to a Gold mine - he was such a character - I have very fond memories of his tales he told - very entertaining.
