    It didn't last. :)

I was also thinking of CTC and LIR the other day and wondering how they're getting on. I wonder how far on you all feel with your day dreams? My dream remains this house as we are slightly stuck with work, so I'm trying to pay a little extra each month off the mortgage. The garden is becoming more mine than the previous owners but the patio would have been my big change, but the roof is practical. I will put :rotfl: but really I feel :wall: as I can't see how I will get the money for it now. Ah well!
Out for lunch with a friend today and it's meant to rain all day tomorrow, luckily no snow here, but it means the garden is unlikely to be done...again.

My day dream didn't work out as planned, as we're not where I wanted to be, and neither are we building the special garden I'd envisaged, or doing what I thought we'd do in our leisure time. Maybe if we actually had some leisure time....:o

However, we've ended-up in a good place and the type of 'gardening' we do here is interesting, if not quite what I had in mind. For the type of property, this one's bang on the money, so we got many things right, sometimes by luck rather than judgement. When I look now at some of the places we almost bought, I think

As for the house, it's good having almost new, but I prefer things less than perfect and a little worn at the edges, like a comfy pair of shoes. It's a responsibility, choosing everything for a major refurb, as there are unwise choices, which then niggle, whereas they wouldn't if someone else had made them. We could do the next one much better!:rotfl:

Very cold & wet here, but the snow has turned to sleet

The Road cracked with lightening when the mast took a direct strike - wondered why our internet has gone off, but it did come back on in the evening,

Our day dream turned to a bit of a night mare at times but we've plodded on despite all the set backs. Really got caught out by health issues and work stuff being very sparse at times, but we have no mortgage, so when it's done we are not in debt, so that has to be a good thing.
To build it as & when you have the money has been hard, really hard & not something I would advise anyone to take on unless they have a regular income coming in.

    well hello folks..
I have spent the day trying to catch fish !...
first I re rigged the pump in the pond to get water out, down a flexi hose to a drain...
then as it was draining , I [well "we" as house / pond owner helped] waited... first BIG koi caught , put into dustbin already set up in back of my car ...only to spot a crack appearing in the wall and a steady stream of water going onto the floor of car  so quickly disembarked orca into another tub...
then when pond had 18"-2ft water left we stood [in the rain/hailstones] watching for movement....and waited... zilch, nada ! we couldn't understand it so I climbed in [wellies immediately followed suit of the dustbin and filled up :( ]..
managed by fluke of net sweeping to catch 2 more BIG koi and a few littluns ,so I took them home to pond and went back again. the level was now 1ft and it was like a salmon farm, they were almost jumping into the nets !! one , im not kidding was aprox 20-24 inches long and had a body like a marrow ! took 2 of us to take the weight in the net to get it to a tub.. [ the sort you see some proud fisherman holding up on the back pages of local rag ;) ]

anyway as darkness fell [having spent 6hrs ...wet] I took what we had home , disembarked by torch light, poured remaining water from my wellies and fell in a wet heap in the kitchen [daren't go in any other room... I stank !!]
going back tomorrow for the remaing much smaller ones !
total of 10 BIG koi, mr WHOPPA, 9 medium koi and 6 smaller...

so apart from that...quiet day really :)
  • Hi still here and reading

Email???? Funny enough someone messaged me on messenger if I had messaged their partner. I didn't open it as I thought it was a dodgy one. What did it say?? Can you message me the email it came from. Think I better change passwords
Work to live= not live to work
  • Fay... Daydream.....def a nightmare on times.

When we bought this place we didn't think that out financial situation/work would change so dramatically practically over night. And didn't think we would have neighbour problems etc.

It's def not all sunshine and roses. BUT when it's good it's brilliant.

Glad to hear you are still enjoying the positives. I guess it's called a day "dream" for a reason! Keep on with it CTC and update us when you can.
