Must be exciting watching your investment start to pay for itself, and so much better than shares, or art, or whatever, as it's something you will live in one day. :)

Fay, I remember the treadmill very clearly. I still have dreams of doing supply work at short notice, so no preparation; just trying to wing-it! Got slightly drunk with my old boss at a party a few weeks ago. No idea what we talked about, but it seems to have set-off a new series of work-related night-frights...

News on HW isn't too good, but nothing's definite. Seems there may be a physical cause for her erratic mental state, so a MRI scan is next....:(

It was 15c again today. The wasps in the old rabbit hole down in the bottom bank are carrying on as if it's still August. It's barmy, balmy weather all right!

Glad bookings are coming in Lucielle - Been a busy year here with the 500 route.

Very wet & cold weather with sleety rain, but supposed to get warm again next week.

Hope Mum's op went well Alfie. Goodness she has a better social life than I.

Glad the fish & dogs are being taken care of by you.

I still have some sheep Fay, but not as many as OH's condition means he often can't help with them & I found it a bit much on my own.

The outside is a bog & totally messier than before & all half cocked. I am annoyed that it is so. I am really fed up with so called trades - I don't think I seem to be fussy, but it's so not on the way they leave things half done. I can't believe how much it's cost to make such a mess. OH is far too tolerant of all of this and its causing ructions as I am sick of mess getting everywhere & nothing finished.

Seems to be a bit of a pick up on ebay, but nothing major, but good to see somethings selling.

Loads of goats down & deer all over the roads. Colours have been fantastic this autumn still giving a great show, but this last windy spell is making inroads on the leaves.

I'll try to take a picture of our back garden this week; it might make you feel better! :)

As for trades taking the mick; still no electricians, so no plasterer. We've cleared the living room, bar the TV and sofas, but we need the sockets and switches first fixed in the new linen room before we can get the messy guys in.....:(

Carp are tricky fish, alfie, and koi are somewhat delicate with it. They
aren't the price they are by being like catfish!

I'm off to a spa day today, cheap deal through wowcher and I know it will be lovely but it's the same drive I do to work every day, so that won't help the mood lol. Also going with my friend who I adore but she's been having some problems and wants to talk to me...as most of my work involves direct therapy I hope it doesn't feel like an extra work day, sure it won't. The house is all clean and tidy. I made a cottage pie last night and my parents came over and there is still some left so dinner is sorted for later. Just need to get gym gear ready for my 530m Monday start.

Oh well, I only have another 27 years left Dave. That's if the government don't put the state pension age up as the NHS changed their pension and this now tracks the state one. At the moment I'm paying more a month for the new NHS pension but will get a lot less back in the end. :(

fay.... my sons a fireman and they had a pensions/financial advisor turn up to speak to the station.. they pay a humungous pension contribution and nat ins. also a stupidly high personal insurance... HE advised them to put their money into property rather than pension as the return would be far greater !! buy to let he said, then income for life...?? they have moved the contractual retirement/years of service which means he will be expected to go up a ladder etc in his 60s... if he doesn't pass yearly fitness tests he gets early retirement on a reduced pension ! they cant win ! he signed up for 30 yrs and its now got to be 40yrs !! not fair and not right in my books..
it just makes me cross as people have planned for a retirement and suddenly its "nope, do a few more years cos we aint gonna pay you the money you are owed"....

apart from that mega moan ... its a lovely cool but bright day here..

There's been a protest in Inverness by the WASPIES - it's because women may have to work much longer & some are not now entitled to a widow's pension. It's quite scary. 'Mismanagement' of pensions - some will have made millions out of it.

Very darkish here, but much milder. Think it's going to plout down. Got washing in as it's been out there for days getting well rinsed.

I wouldn't want the hassle of BTL. Equities can perform as well as property in the long run, and prove more flexible. There isn't much liquidity in a house or flat!

Either way, people have to manage their investment and take a few risks.

The pensions are as they are because UK citizens are doing exactly what people said we'd do all those years ago when the NHS started; outliving our predecessors. Not individually, of course: I don't expect to beat my Dad's score with my level of fitness! :rotfl:

Yeah, if people said we'd do that, someone should have planned for it......:(

Gosh....serious post.:o I'm off to lay a wreath shortly, so maybe I'm feeling a bit serious today. Lovely morning tho'. :)

It was gorgeous moon last night, I think there's a super moon coming. Took the dog out at 10.30 and I could still hear the crows making a noise in the trees and I cast a great moon shadow as I was out.

Supermoon tonight in US, more tomorrow here I think. Full moon is about 1pm here.

I did wake and see the moon last night. Overcast currently, just have to cross fingers we'll get some clearances!
