Just fleeced as much as I can outside, esp. the passion vine, as the forecast is for freezing nights.

Pleased and surprised to see the fratillaries in flower under my half-standard holly; they are one bulb I din't expect to overwinter!

Some seeds I planted last weekend are showing, cosmos have come through first but they immediately look 'leggy' despite getting masses of light. This is why I don't often fuss with seeds!

    Afternoon all

Don't know where the last few weeks have gone??

Piggies doing well, those sows we picked up and slowly coming around, but the white one bite hubby this week.. But we think, she thought he was the other sow lol..

Lola is a little minx and so funny...she always goes under the sleeping bag we have on the sofa. To sleep..like she likes being in a dark den??

Started a part time cleaning job yesterday, 2 hours at tea time Monday to Friday.. Don't know how long I will last there lol.. As talk about a cowboy company lol..

The ranch is very slowly coming on.. What is it with builders and work men??? The guy installing the cooker is messing us around big time ( but he is a mate, and doing it slightly cheaper) the builder ( again a friend) we wait weeks for him just to do a little bit...

I am thinking there is no such thing as a totally reliable builder who listens to what you want done, and does it that way

We supposed to have had the phone line and broadband installed a few weeks ago. But there is a fault on the line do haven't set it up yet. Until they can find the fault..

    One thing after another ...

Time for a cuppa me thinks!!

Been one of those day spending hours in the garden, but there's not a lot to show for it :(

That said, cleared a lot of the 'going over' daffs from pots and planted them around the fences with a slosh of foliar feed. They may come back with flowers next year. Used the pots to plant Crinum × powellii, although found that some other bulbs from Dobbies and a dahlia from Crocus were very poor quality.

Down a few fish :(, one tank will need to be completely cleaned out with bleach to kill the parasites and started off again. Am hoping that plunging the plants in 3% hydrogen peroxide will kill off any parasite eggs.

his.... do you think it was the fish that brought in the "nasties" or the plants ? may pay to have a quaranteen tank for new fish ? or if bought from same place then change ?

went to see dad today with mum ... hes very tired :(

came back to find darling bailey [one of the 2 labs I look after occasionally] had "unplanted" my tubs
bless him he is such a big bouncy baby ! bimble ignores him and rumbles at him when he follows him everywhere.. asbo just tries to be invisible and freezes till he bounces past...:rotfl:

been down to check on the stallion and I swear he grows taller every week ! turning him out in the field behind the old farmhouse tomorrow [if I can hold onto him !:o ]

about to light my fire as although been dry all day and mild, it is getting chilly now !

These are the old floor boards, approx 200years old, they were disgusting, with an old black gunge on them, sadly couldn't keep them as floor boards, but they scrubed up well, and are hiding old crap botch building work..

First lamb today - a large girl, lovely & also heard the cuckoo, but OH had heard it yesterday.

Tried to get the girls out of the bottom field, but one is still down there with the boys. She'll be fine, but I would rather she wasn't.

Very cold day, but dry - fresh dusting of snow on the benn.

Looks like you're really moving on with the ranch CTC. I was thinking of you the other day whilst sorting my pots out, it reminded me of when you bought your great big stash of them!
