Yes, trying to get OH to not do things is a problem, but he's doing really well.

    How is your weather RAS?

Dave you do a lot - always got a project on the go. Are your Rugosas the usual pink ones? I have those & white ones. I have seen the red ones - which I must track down & liberate a runner or three.
They're both the pink and the white ones, but I don't know which are which, so it'll be a mix. I've heard about a red, but this one offered by the people I buy from doesn't look terribly red! I'll buy a couple and see:

    http://www.hedging.co.uk/acatalog/product_16930.html

I got a few wee self-seeded hazels into the other field hedge, but by then I was too wet to do any more. :(

The dump cost me £3.50 for a very large piece of window glass and some plastic drainage pipe. Fine, but they gained an up & over garage door (cut it in half!) a steel bath and a cooker, which would surely have benefited them for scrap.:p

I discussed my not-very-nice loft insulation with the nice man and he suggested I bring that in as trade waste. That way I'd be entitled to drop a tonne for around £100. I said I'd think about it. I haven't really got that much unwanted stuff in terms of weight.

Meanwhile, DW haggled quite a presentable push chair down to £10....:rotfl:

Hi Alfie - I'd love to go to one of those Auto Jumbles. Is a stall expensive at one?

Dunelm do wooden blinds-Venetian in wood & white & darker shades. They come in various sizes. They are very reasonable. They do a made to measure one but they are more expensive.

Really nasty outdoors, but only white on the tops.

its aprox £100 for 3 days. pitches are aprox 4x4 metres.[no smaller] I put up my pergola type tent thingy [one that just all mushrooms up in one go ! no separate poles...] it has sides so just bung every thing in at end of day and zip it up :D

absolute waste of time trecking round carpet shops .... way too many shades of same :o..... confusious say confusing !! ended up with "carpet rage"....;)
went to the bib & que shop re blinds, found the right colour but only one in size... asked man in orange apron if they could get me another and the blank look reply sent me out of the shop, into my car and home..... I did bang my head voluntarily a few times on the steering wheel before I set off ......

I am now sat, having eaten my tea, in front of the fire and ON STRIKE..........

weather has stayed dry but no movement on water levels on the open forest yet...

    ruby is doing well...

hope everyone is well and safe..

I wondered if I could get a bit of advice about what to do with these new borders that have been created by my hedges being removed. I would really like to put a couple of apple trees in here, we have a cooking Apple but I want some eating apples. But I don't know if small trees, cordons or espalier would be best. What do people think?

depends on what way the sun is? is the border SNE or W facing... also were the roots of firs removed ? firs in general may have affected the acidity of the soil... Davey boy may know... or RAS,IHS ....
