Yes, thanks for the M26 advice too, RAS.
Glad the very technical solution I suggested didn't fall on deaf ears, alfie!

Panto rehearsals yesterday and tonight mean I'm flagging a bit now. There were people missing this evening, so we took on extra roles, but eventually two of the 3 people I was playing met up, and I couldn't manage a sword fight with myself! :o

I think this year's Panto will possibly offend a few people, but it's funnier than usual. Mind you, everything's in the mind of the beholder, rather like the card we sent to a cast member who was carted off to hospital at the weekend......I couldn't help noticing that the photo on the front was shot in the village graveyard! :rotfl:
  • Morning all,

Turned a nice morning here, actually got a blue sky!!! Must admit I have been meaning to add some top soil and 6x to the greenhouse beds, but with all the wind etc I was too frightened to go in there just incase the glass crashed on top of me..

Going to sort through my hoard of seeds. And see what I can risk sowing..

Foul night -not much sleep in the Choille household.

Storm is still raging & lashing down. I think the hotel that sits at the top of the Loch will have flooded as it was a high tide & the wind was driving that way.

    Sick of this now.

A bit random but thought this worth trying if you are taking cuttings http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/jan/31/drug-therapy-for-plants

I'll give that cinnamon a try.;)

I use willow water when starting cuttings. (Yes,"willow water" - I know it's Panto season! :p) which also has the salicylic acid in it. :)

Odd day here. I was walking around outdoors in my PJs at around 07.00, but by tonight it had become really cold and squally.

We went to see our builder to sort out an action plan for the year. The big stuff, like roofing, is set to start in May. If we can get the conservatory & porch done by September, that'll be great. :D

Other than that, fitted a Lidl PIR auto LED spotlight in the barn, which seems to work fine, but it's hardly overwhelming in terms of power. Mounted the junction box so that I can take it through the Yorkshire board and put it over the doorway instead, but I want to see if it will react to small animals before trying that! ;)

I put this up elsewhere, but thought you might also enjoy my photos of Nacreous Clouds from yesterday evening. I've never seen anything like them before, neither has OH. And we both watch the clouds and weather a lot - once you've been a sailor you always have an interest in the skies and the weather I think! Photos taken from my bedroom window.

Those clouds would do as a stand-in for the northern lights, maggie!

Beautiful cloud Maggie - how unusual. I must google it.

The Aspirin in water I knew about for cut flowers, but not the cinnamon RAS. sheep love willow & will bark the trees in a wet Winter.

Goats got into the croft today - big Billies - a batchelor herd. They are a pest & will bark all the trees if left.
But, most unusual, I saw an otter just outside the kitchen window lolloping up the side of the burn - amazing.

Rayburn expert here late afternoon - Rayburn is not big enough for heating albeit a towel rail or small radiator, so we will have to add in something or take it out & get summat else. This is our third opinion, still can't take it all in. It is a very sore point as ex plumber led us right down the wrong path.

Very wet & windy day, but gone a bit quieter out there now. But chilly.

Gorgeous photos, maggie :T I noticed the 'rainbow' clouds when we were on the beach about 5.15pm last night and took some photos. Nowhere near as good as yours though. The clouds were mentioned on the 6pm BBC news last night & there's some stunning photos on the BBC weather website for anyone interested.
