    hi all.....

wel we are well and truly under water ! road to brockenhurst is shut by police. road into lymington is shut by police. both have extreme flooding, brock being the worse. beaulieu river has flooded so the only way to lym is one back road which is not too bad.. not good for the lorries tackling narrow roads ! lym river [even tho flood gates are open] is road level at the bridge... another good down pour will flood it..
the forest itself looks like a huge swimming pool ....
my drive is 3" of water too !!
rain has slowed here so hopefully will die off over night.

You will be OK. It's dry and cold tonight and sunshine all the way tomorrow. :)

Not so sure about 'Oop norf,' but I noticed nothing on the news (before I fell asleep anyway!) :o

Not sure about up north but this far north it has been intermittent showers, not great but not bad.

    Anyone heard from choille?

Edit: Looks like the Borders have taken another hammering; might have just escaped this time.

    I think we've bought half a conservatory! :j

Knowing that now (end of month targets in a poo month!;)) might be the best time to negotiate, we've been doing that with two long established local companies - 35 years in the case of the one we've chosen.

We build the base and they supply the rest, so we end up with a porch and a conservatory, joined together, but separated by a wall. That way, there's just a chance that all the farming/plant growing carp stays on the tradesman's entrance side!

I was doubtful that we could get huge conservatory and big porch within budget, but it looks like we can do it now....... provided we cut back elsewhere. So, some stuff will have to be 'wait and see' for another year.

Phone off again.....well it's barely audible. Does this when it rains heavy.

Was very mild but changed again yesterday & snowed then just chucked it down again. Still grey here.

Oh has a physio appointment but will need to check that physio can get to Ullapool.

So much water ponding everywhere - the fields are really bad, but what can you do? Poor sheep just have to wade through it as do I.

Good about Ruby Alfie. That sounds a real progression.

CTC - How marvellous that you are researching the house's past.

    Dave the plans sound good.

We are not doing much apart from the basics.

Half way to Dave and it is now very wet; more so than yesterday. This morning was lovely, sunny and nippy.

Yes, sorry :o, it went north of us and we had a good day again. :D Only came over grey in the later afternoon...

Tomorrow night into Saturday doesn't look too good for any of us though! :(

    Alfie, have you dried-out yet?

Fort Augustus looks nice on Gooogle.

    Hope that was OK choille.

DW is going to need some more treatment. Her physio was supposed to ring sometime today, but the call didn't happen. She had to stay indoors by the phone, when she could have been out enjoying the brief spell of sunshine. :(

By contrast, the pharmacist rang me on Monday, bang on the time when she said she would. :) I was glad it was only a phone consultation; I thought she might tell me off for putting on a few Christmas pounds! :o
