hi all.......
well I have dried out ,dave, but the land aint
mind you today was like a switch flicked... sunny, dry, warm ..
took man to airport today [Scotland commuter] and he was dreading going up norf ! said it was horrendous up there
he has several hotels and business is booming tho ?? he reckons the customers don't care as they go on coach trips [if they can use roads etc ] and don't have to get wet OR they stay in hotel....
im now deliberating the colour for bedroom carpet ... thing is I like a friends colour of her curtains but bit difficult to match unless I remove one and trek round shops with a dam great curtain with me0 -
Physio went fine for OH - that is it now - he's on his own re exercises.
Lucielle - Don't think you are gonna have very nice weather. Sorry......
Saw my old art teacher in Inverness - how odd. She's from Shetland & she'd just flown over to the mainland & was saying the land from the air is just filled with flooded areas. It's gone more mild again - after snow yesterday. Weather is mad. Quite strong gusts.
The hall is wet as the rain is being driven in - bought a seal in LIDLs - tomorrow's job - well one of them.0 -
It's a bit windy!!!

It says gusts from 60-70mph for you folk today. We're just quietening down at about 45mph now.
That's another reason for wanting to keep a conservatory here. The big hedge does a fine job at the most exposed end, but the back would otherwise take the brunt of the south westerly gales.
In our bedroom, sheltered by the rest of the building, we don't hear a thing, unless it's coming from the north west, which is rare. When we were in the old one, now the utility room, the rain hammering on the windows was a regular thing.0 -
Ridiculously windy here throughout the night & a massive crack of thunder & lightening again.
Phone is now working after going off again on Monday. It's been more off than on since December.
Hedges are good. There are some lovely beech ones over on the East.
Traditionally they would plant a prickly hedge around a cottage - probably for livestock - to keep them out, but they would also throw their washing over them - the spines would hold it in place.0 -
Glad you are OK choille.
Try and keep OH out of the wind whilst it is so blustery? Looks like being evening before it calms down?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Ours in the garden is really good now. We'd have a half-decent section on the road by now too, if a certain person hadn't pulled them out. There are two or three left, a bit mangled, but they won't disappear now.
I've just come in from planting the rest of my rugosas in the bare road hedge at the bottom of the field. They'll have a better chance this year, but they'll still have to fight it out with the bramble and bracken.
Off to the [STRIKE]dump[/STRIKE] recycling centre soon....It's all metal carp this time, so shouldn't have too much of a problem.0 -
Yes, trying to get OH to not do things is a problem, but he's doing really well.
How is your weather RAS?
Dave you do a lot - always got a project on the go. Are your Rugosas the usual pink ones? I have those & white ones. I have seen the red ones - which I must track down & liberate a runner or three. The hips look marvellous on them & are great for the birds. The scent from the flowers in the evenings is quite heady & the bees love them - so all in all a good garden plant I think.0 -
Right now it is lovely out there, choille if a but blustery. Was bl&5^dy foul this morning, walking into a howling gale and horizontal rain; trousers got soaked.
The windows on these offices (Victorian) are not exactly airtight so it took a while to get dry and warm up.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Choille got your skins, are you still able to meet up?
