If you put the plaster board on the ground the damp will make the removal of the silver foil easy.

I only bin thistles & seeding docks. I did burn them on the Choille bonfire place but there's now loads of docks encircling the bonfire site - I think the fire actually encourages their success - the seeds I think...but don't know for sure.

Because of the rural, middle of nowhere location we get a household waste bin collection once a fortnight & a green paper & tins & plastic bottle bin once a fornight. - Takes me months to fill both normally & I only put them up when full. I compost most things that will break down & are organic, but I do like to fill the household bin with thistles & docks & bits & pieces of house build waste - so that's been a struggle dragging it up to the road - hernia inducing & I'm just a wee fella!

Hope Sis is not too onerous. I always wanted a Sis, but I know that often they can be a pain, but if you want to have her adopted I'm yer man! - The way I spoke to the ex-plumber - I'm sure I'm getting all aggressive & .....manly. I'd like to punch his lights out good & proper.

Pretty sure our road is being shown on sat navs as a cut through now. Our twice a day trickle of school traffic had changed a bit in recent months, and not seemed to die down this week.

Last night for some reason we had loads of cars coming down the road, and noisily, but not just the teens. And lots of people who were caught out by the bend.

Edit: when I rule the world btw, one of the things I will do is out a limit on how noisy cars can be, the noise kids like their cars to make, not the rumble of a four by four. And maybe put limits on volume of car radios. Audiologist a are saying more and more young people go in because of personal music volume and concerts and things, so its win win.

Possibly a re-route due to block on the main road, lir.

Our B road is too narrow in places for two cars to pass, hence several accidents by Mr D's since our occupation, yet it is used by double decker buses and massive combines.

Personally, I don't mind a bit of passing traffic, and I've removed most of the visual barriers between us and the road, but then it's almost 70' away. Using the borrowed landscape can produce quite funny photos, like a bus apparently travelling through our front flower border! :rotfl:

If I want to be private, I just go out of the back door. If I want to sell a few plants, I need the passers-by. Almost win-win, but there's litter, of course; not a huge amount and much of it generated by people living close by.

Re the litter thing , I pick it up on my twice weekly saunter up to the PO when it comes for a outreach here. Only comes for 2 hours twice a week.

I also pick it up when I go up to the sheep - the amount of stuff thrown into the sheep field is bad at this time of year.

As well as closing public loos the councils are also removing litter bins from Lay bys & it's causing an awful lot of fly tipping especially by campervans.

Dave nave's favourite wiltshire town charges for the public loo. In return its staffed, kept really clean, unvandalised, not a place to take drugs ( always makes me heave...the idea with all that filth around). tbh, I'm all for it. Its not a huge fee, but it makes a huge difference.

They've started the charged & 'manned' loos in Inverness.

But the middle of nowhere ones are starting to shut & it's a shame - just costs I think.

Just had the plumber down with a 'friend'. The friend was trying his best to negotiate, but ex-plumber just being an !!! so after over an hour ex plumber flounced off in a string of expletives & haze of smoke.
He's been slagging us off has ex plumber so his large friend came round to act as negotiator, but ex plumber is being so unreasonably nuts about his bill it's madness on his part. But not exactly conducive to a nice pleasant day.
OH is feeling the strain as am I.

    Morning all,

Flipping heck it was cold last night in the caravan up the ranch... Last night/ this morning g felt like it was September, going into autumn .

I can remember when I was small, you had to put a penny in the toilet door for it to open ( or was it two pence?) And if there was a que people used to hold the door open so people didn't have to pay lol...there was always a cleaning attendant there too, and as you say alwYs clean and tidy, no kids messing around etc...

Alfie.. How was your day at the show????

I remember going into a public toilet in Germany.....I closed the door and then there was a noise like thunder as someone banged on it.

When I opened up, there was a huge woman dressed in something like a military uniform yelling at me incomprehensibly :eek:(though I suppose it was fair enough for her to use German in Germany!:rotfl:)

I fled. The woman ran after me, but being only 19 at the time, I could run pretty fast. :D

I suppose there was meant to be some payment involved. Either that, or with my shoulder-length hair, she thought I was a girl. :o

I know for sure I never mentioned The War!:A

HAHAHA. That's funny Davesnave, but I bet it wasn't at the time....

With all the further cut backs planned, I can see us having to pay for more and more public services ( plus our council rates etc)

Stripping tiles from the kitchen floor today. Builder was supposed to be doing this, but he has to get coving up, and it's a real beggar of a job, which must be done before the kitchen company come to screed the floor.

I'm also trying to save the floor tiles for DW's Den.:D

Anyway, after an hour's work, only 6 tiles removed whole and layers of adhesive gunk still on the floor, I realised I'd need equipment. So, yesterday I bought a SDS hammer drill/breaker + tile remover knowing the cost should be recouped in less builder time and more 'saved' tiles. ;)

    We'll see.....! :o
