    Plumber hasn't come.

Our electrician hasn't responded to our email asking him about first fix in the kitchen next Tuesday...:(

Mr Rod hasn't got back to me about plastering in there from Wednesday....but that's 'normal.'

Plumber did make some positive noises about next week, but wasn't sure whether he'd change the tank or install a boiler.:undecided

Kitchen co want everything done yesterday because, clearly, they aren't at all busy. :rotfl:

Edit: Fly papers! I haven't seen those in years. My parents used to use them in their fish shop (out at the back) but then they got some electronic thing that warmed up and wafted out this lethal vapour, which probably took about 5 years off our lives.

    Worked, though!

Battening down the hatches here, it's like November with strong wind and rain lashing down. Staked/tied pretty much everything I can in the garden, lady's mantle is already flat as a pancake.

At least the drainage has been improved further (part of reason I wanted the saw) by cutting channels across the patio slabs.

Fish seem to like their new plants although the water is now like weak tea from the tannins leaching from the drift-wood the plants are tied to.

p.s. LIR.... is that "the" bed that broke ;)

Yes! We have repaired it long since then though. :D I'm guessing new bed might be more rickety too, and on this wood wormy floor  We must rein things in a little :o. :o :rotfl:;). The danger element is heading beyond my excitement/ pleasure threshold.

Rummer, we use fly papers, and they work... But believe it or not some brands are better than others. I have three over the alter in the kitchen ATM, and what's horrid is the flies keep pooping after they get stuck, so there is always very heavy fly spotting to clear up under them.

Infact, I need to change ours. They are pretty coated.

We have used this brand of fly papers before to great effect however this time the flies are merrily avoiding them :(

I really need to get the house sorted as it is packed to the rafters with "stuff" and it would be better re-homed and preferably while generating a few pennies :D

LIR - I like looking at a website called Houzz. It's really quite good for noseying at bathrooms, kitchens, houses & what folks have done with them & it's not too heavy on adverts at all.

If you are going for anything OTT a hallway is a good place to do it as you don't live in that part of the house - also a way to put the faint hearted people who come to the door!

Plumber is a pain & OH & I are not in agreement on how to deal with the situation so it's causing strife & that is not something that's helpful, but that's what happens.

Rummer you have mega flies? I used to use a spiral thing tat hung down from the ceiling & it was good, biut looked a bit ruff ruff. I lived in a dip next to a river & the flies looked as if something was decaying under the floorboards. I used to get the hoover out with the pointy noozle on & OH & I would have a comp on who could suck up the most in a given time - mind you that was before we got a telly!

Fingers crossed plumber comes tomorrow & other hand crossed he doesn't as that would mean I could tell him to !!!! off & get someone to finish it off.
Rained really heavy. Someone has opened the gate where the boys are & they are now roaming about down the croft GGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Still, not as if my gardens any good this year, but still it's annoying.

    morning all..

hope it goes well for you choille .. be it a plumber in residence or on the end of a spit roast... :o

lovely day starting here again although good rain would be welcome..

bit of a bungle on mums house exchange.. female half of buyers has just changed her job and mortgage company have to asses to rearrange M  there has been a stupid delay anyway.. solicitors forgot to get a vital doc signed by mum ! I found this out a week ago and I took mum straight in to sign it. thing is the estate agent kept saying could mum bring forward completion date and as I told them they hadn't even bl**dy well exchanged so forget it ! EA was miffed we are buying flat privately and let me know that... told me it would take "ages" to complete on so I reminded her that if they reckon that the ex and comp on mums could be done now in time frame then why not flat [no mortgage, no chain etc]... she shut up then , after I told her comp date may go back...;) [this was given after an assured exchange date was given but not kept to !]
ive told mum she better like it in this flat cos I aint moving her again..:D :rotfl:

im gonna mow the top lawn, visit pops, plant the magnolia tree I nearly killed myself digging out from mums and then sort out gumpf to sell at boot sale tomorrow..

    have a good day y'all..

p.s. have you got a "boy" with extreme scary horns you could leave wandering for when the plumber shows up .... keep him on his toes ;):D
