IHS, sorry to hear your still having troubles with your fish. We have a rescue budgie and we adore him. Such good fun and they are highly trainable and interactive. If you have an SSPCA/RSPCA branch hear you it is worth enquiring. After the initial cage outlay they are no more expensive to keep than fish.

So lovely that there are a number of people back posting :)

Been quite busy recently. I've applied for another job but not heard anything yet....hope they don't keep me in suspenders for too long.

Been down to see mum, she seems to be ok but has lost a few teeth! Took her out for the day and I hope she had a nice time, have to use disabled transport now as she can't get in and out of my car.

DS2 flies to Madagascar tomorrow for 4 weeks the lucky sod! We're off to the Yorkshire show on Wednesday think DD2 is looking a bit peaky....

Off to London on Friday for a paaaarrrrtttyyyyy. Its fancy dress Druid party and I've got some green henna and my friend is going to draw ivy up my arm. Back from London on Sunday and then off with the DDs for the girly road trip to Crieff.

We are going on a Tornado ride (means being a tele tubby in a wetsuit!) the doing high ropes and then to Crieff Hydro for afternoon tea. There is a munro to climb, Drummond Gardens and potentially bike hire. Back in work on Friday for a rest.

DS1 is still shearing, his shearing partner has just possibly broken his wrist tonight, just waiting to hear.

Think that's me up to date.

Oh, meant to add that the wet weather is suiting the hostas, can't recall seeing so many flowers on them for a while -

I sooooo want some of those ! [giant napweed]

Very strange root, like an asparagus there's a 'star' of thick fleshy roots coming off the centre.

NB Any ideas on this - I found it self-sown behind the willow hence the tips are yellowing as less and less light was getting down -

Well done Dave with the wheeled brush cutter - they are very handy things indeed. I would love one, but I'm not cutting anything at the moment.

Wet again & quite cool. OH been trying to contact plumber to find out what is going on as he's gone to ground again.

Lucielle have a lovely party & that's a good skill your son has - shearing.

Painted the seams of bedroom ceiling so OH can roller that. It does seem a little darker than I thought - the colour is called Alfie!

IHS - Go with the birds. They look lovely.

Looks suspiciously like a willow! (though maybe not the species you already have)

Alfie, the wheely brushcutter thingy is for cutting grass where the mower isn't comfortable or just gives up. I'm aware even it may not be powerful enough, but there is always a trade off between power and manoeuvrability, as I found with my big mower, which never worked well here.:(

It's a muddish earthy colour Alfie. Of the sod!

Just relisted stuff on ebay - nothing seems t o be selling so not an incentive to list even though it's free until Tues, it's so dead on there.

Must go & see if the paint has lightened as it's drying.
