Choille, sorry to hear you are having such a grim time. Any scope for a night away to give you some respite?

Alfie you are such a thoughtful and generous person and I never cease to be amazed by thing things you find/are offered :rotfl:

Well I had a rotten day today and I am throughly fed up.

Well thanks for all good wishes. I'm well hacked off as I thought we'd be in by now. It's as if the trades here are all having a mid life crisis. Gee don't some men make you want to gip up - how would they cope with actually having to work 8 hours graft on minimum wage & just a tea break twice a day & half hour unpaid lunch break. These folks think they're God & they do have a lot of power, but this guy is really really coming close to getting told his fortune.
He's doing everything bar getting the water on - it's like a game.
    Sorry for the rant.

It's been very heavy rain & quite muggy now.

Rummer - I'd love a night away but the really cheap deals on travel lodge are not on at the mo, but I do feel I need a mini break away.
I fully agree about Alfie - she's so kind & good & fun. I wish we could all have a meet up in a caff & get the craic.

    Morning all,

Starting to overcast now, so the rain will not be long..

There is a suspected bird flu outbreak in Preston ..

Remember the 'loo brush 'hedging plant I posted pics of last year, well I have started pulling up the off shoots and potting them up, as they all have roots.. So is it best to pinch them out to start busing out before they die back in the autumn??

Also remember those yellow flowered plants I posted a PIC on fb Alfie.. I and going the same with them, so again is is best to cut them back past the flowers to encourage root top growth?? Again they have come up with some roots etc

    IMO :o
loo brush ones... if im "hedging" I tend to let them get a good strong main stem up to half the height I want ,then top it to encourage side growth. if topped too soon they tend to go wider rather than taller....

yellow flowers.... collect the seeds when really dry looking. , cut back to just below flower stem but not so they are too tall. you will see where side shoots are coming from ... so if there are 2 levels lower take them to there. but don't cut too low. divide them when they die back in the autumn if a clump.. chuck the seeds unceromonially on a tray of earth, nothing fancy as they like to find themselves when self sown eu naturel... then babies for next year too...

don't know if this helps OR makes sense !!:rotfl:

p.s. teaching granny to suck eggs BUT I always use a bucket [coloured] and chop seed heads off into it then seeds that "pop" stay in the bucket not everywhere....
