Oops, another two fish are no more. The daft eejits jumped up into the water filter and got stuck on the foam pad :(

I'll see how the remaining 5 do, although that's supposedly to few for a shoaling fish.

    thought of keeping a budgie ? ;):D

    I've been Money Tipped!
Oh dear I have spoken. Poor fish. :(.

We had a really lovely old gold Fish who suddenly started jumping out of the tank. ( he , and others. were, in a tank while there were pond renovations, but had been quite happy in there. One day no one was there to put it back in:(, ( tank had a light plastic lid but he was a big fish and had obviously tried a few times).

I guess maybe he felt like I do after too long in the city.

We are slowly moving towards the big kitchen transformation and all we need now is a commitment from Mr Rod.....I will try to phone him now ....but don't hold your breath! :rotfl:

Shock! Horror! I got him and he'd been thinking about the kitchen and making plans with his assistant....:D

He hasn't yet seen what I've done to the house bathroom!

Most fish will jump, some more than others. DD2 had a substantial lid on her tank, with only tiny gaps where the cables came in, but some fish still managed to leap through those. :(

    Morning all,

Blue skies this morning, so fingers crossed its going to be a nice day..

What do you think of the budget yesterday?? And the stock market in China??

Even when we have practically no income coming in, we don't claim tax credits etc, years and years ago, we claimed, and then they said they over paid us, which put us in a right pickle.. I know alot of people are saying great min wage is going up etc... But small firms like ours just can't afford those types of increases, especially that we got to pay 5% of earnings into a pension fund, AND if someone is off sick, and claims SSP we got to pay that, and can't claim it back... Which I thought your stamp went towards, sick pay and pension ??

I think over the coming years, small firms who used to employ a handful of people will either close, etc, or just not emo!oy people ..

Thing this will cause prices to go up. How will farmers cope??? Especially that the supermarkets dictate how much they pay for produce??

    morning all
    glorious day here again..

    CTC...

trouble is IMO [soap box time] a lot of people WANT things above and beyond what they NEED.. I could and have lived on very little. cut your cloth etc.. when they say they cant afford to live.. ? no maybe not on the diet they eat and the widescreen TV's which always seem to feature in the backgounds.. these people have taken away the true definition of poverty and in turn that takes the attention away from the quiet dignified people who really are poor and need help. weedle out the lazy B's who COULD live on the minimum wage [or dare I say it get 2 jobs!] and are capable of working leaving the genuine vulnerable to be helped.
we have created a society /generation where they EXPECT... there are generations who have successfully "made do" and led a respectfull life.
the old saying "the more you have the more you want" is never more true.

ooops just fell off my box

I totally agree with you Alfie, I see it here, where people who have worked for us x amount of hours, and their wages get topped up with tax credits, council tax credits etc, and after working things out they earn more alot more than if they worked 40 hrs per week..so there is no incentive to work more than x hours per week...

But with these increases, its not worth us employing anymore, it we will prob go back to basics, one of us trying to earn our own wages by being self employed while the other one tries to find a job.. I am panicking more for my boys, but then with this livable wage for the over 25's emp!oyers may be more likely to emp!oy younger people due to the cheaper wages
