CTC homebase also have 15% off everything this weekend so a good time to get your paper if you do want it for the ranch, have you got any nectar points too??0
-
I am no use to you CTC. I do for interior design what Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen does for Formula 1.....:o0
-
CTC - Personally I would paint the walls. Sort of neutral beach colours, but that's me. If it's for sale then I would go sand on the wood lined walls & pale blue on the upper walls & use navy blue towels & use pretty floral or shell decorations to add interest, but I'd keep it plainish - looks bigger that way too, but that's me.
Blowing a strong gale here & cold. Really strong gusts - horrid.0 -
HAHAHAHA. like the way you compared it lol.
flip I was part of the original shabby chic that broke off and started a lovely forum a few years back, done loads of re-vamps before it started getting trendy.. I must admit I got sort of stuck in a rut them, and always used dimity by F&B..
was going to get this at HB, and then go over to b&q for the Valspar tester pots which are like small tins od paint lol and they are only £1 each at mo...
I have just tried sanding part of the floor, but they are making the woodworm holes more noticeable .. so have stopped, but there are some old black marks from the old owner, and what ever it is, is not shifting.. so will have to come back to the floor...
hubby is not here now, ( managed to wangle my way out of picking the pots up with him, but he has help lol)
so how do I work out how many rolls I need for the bathroom..
it has 19 strips
and the 54 inches long?? ( this does not take into consideration that there are gaps for 2 windows, and a door)
I don't know how to work out because of the pattern Repeat etc?? any ideas??Work to live= not live to work0 -
Mum and dad both still in hospital, although they are getting a bit better.
Horrid wet Sunday with me; plants I bought yesterday to replace some of the winter losses like the verbenas, potato vine and a couple of 'pinks'.
Finally got around to sowing the lithops ('living stones') seeds I got weeks back; had to improvise with the seed mix so will see if anything emerges.
Quick pic from the conservatory door, everything sopping wet...0 -
I agree with choille....I'd paint. I'd paint everywhere in fairly 'boring' neutral colours where you are selling. When viewing is happening put vases of flowers in rooms and make sure everything is clean. Tbh, wall paper risks putting some people off I think.0

hi all...
CTC... I agree if the walls can take it [ie plaster etc] I wouldn't wallpaper. a neutral pale sage/greyish blue would look nice BUT id leave the bath... could be opening a can of worms.. lets face it most people change bathroom and kitchen.. drape a big co-ordinating towel over side of bath and the eye is drawn to the colour not the bath itself.. and as said.. an old china vase with some natural flowers dangling....bobs your uncle
also the wood panelling and walls would look nice in a MATT paint [let them worry about splashes !]
well I woke up at 11 am  feel like half the days gone now
CTC... wish I was nearer, ive just been given a large square of new carpet in a nice neutral cream/browns fleck.. would have done to "tart" up a room...
im all backwards now as im still not awake !0 -
I also wouldn't paper the bathroom CTC.....the bathroom we inherited when we bought this house last year has wallpaper above the rather lovely panelling, but every length of paper is peeling away at ceiling height due the damp atmosphere when one bathes
Rather than risk alienating some buyers with wallpaper patterns they might hate, I'd do as others have suggested and choose a soft, relaxing colour emulsion then add interest with country flowers and fluffy towels.
We've also got some carpet here going spare (one piece is 15' x 15'), but whilst it looks good quality and is in excellent condition, it's also a rather fetching shade of dusky pink - not to everyone's taste I guess, but at least it's plain!
It's a mixed bag, weather-wise here today - blustery showers first thing, but some sunshine now, definitely warmer though. Yesterday was so chilly we had to have the heating on for a while - first time for a month.
Too damp underfoot to work on the garden, so catching up prepping for the new kitchen installation (which we're doing ourselves as always, but plumber/sparky coming in for those bits) by moving our 6' dresser and free-standing larder cupboard out of the kitchen-to-be and into the current kitchen which is going to be utility/butler's pantry:D
Thank you for the update on your parents IHS, I was wondering how they were......pleased to hear they are improving xMortgage-free for fourteen years!
Over £40,000 mis-sold PPI reclaimed0 -
just got back and seen all your posts, the problem is the was are totally naff, it cant even take thin paper...
so just painting some of the walls are totally out of the question..
don't think I should post a pick now of what I am going to do lol.. what eve I do, its going to be re-done by new owner/developer if it sells...
I am trying to find the cheapest way of just sprucing it up to make it look better than the sh!!!te pit it is now lol...
bathroom.. spend..
paper .. £22 odd as I bought 5 rolls, and open one... this is way to much, but they did say I can take back any unopened ones for refund..
paint.. ok its not proper wood paint, it is silk.. large tester pots, 2 should do it..
new corner bath side panel £45..
plus wall paper paste, brushes etc... approx. £10
total spend £79..
plus whatever I can do/need for the floor..and ceiling..
here we go, not to everyone's taste, but it will be clean and fresh lol..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Very Fresh CTC.
B&Q are doing laminate flooring on offer for £10 square metre.
Painted floors look nice, or Oxalyic acid will bleach out the black marks. Fill wormholes with brown wax - not ear wax! Polish such as briwax will really fill holes & bring the boards up a treat. Rugs are great on boards & easy to keep if you sell the house.
Freezing here, really BBBBBaaaallltic.0
