hi, sold it on the bay and they paid instantly !

CTC,, everyone is planting at the mo, why don't you put a crate and a sign outside gate asking for any large pots from passing walkers. I bet theyd be pleased to rehome them... or ask a landscape gardener if you know one, they get through loads and don't really want the pots. I could get you loads if your not in an ultra rush ?

going away somewhen in the last 2 weeks of may for a week.

slowly slowly is the best way...

I think it's probably the only way for most of us.

We could get this place done in half the time if we could afford to rent somewhere else, and if we didn't do the decorating ourselves.

But there's a real sense of involvement too, this way. :A

Not that I was indoors much today; too many tomatoes to pot and trees/shrubs to plant etc. We put the Bramley in today, but I'm waiting for some rain before planting a few other trees, currently waiting in pots.

Ah yes, pots.....we used to get quite a few from a landscaper, but we also bought from this company, and we still do, occasionally:

    hi all...
well ive had an interesting day !!
mum has decided she wants to move house.. [yesterday] so I went to chat to her today and I took her to see the flats [warden controlled]where she'd like to go. met the warden etc and asked to be given the nod if someone wants/needs to sell.
we then went to an estate agent which happened to be beside where we parked, certainly not pre picked.. went in to ask re selling mums house.. turns out they had sold the last 2 flats there and the agents grandma lived there !
so we went for a tea and cake, discussed it and he came out to do a valuation for her. he had a list of prospective buyers who want that area. he valued it [was very impressed how well maintained and spotless it was ] and it was £15000 over what we thought compared to others for sale in same area....
he also had mum in stitches saying he will get his grandma sounding out /spying on anyone thinking of selling their flat..
we have this image of her sleuthing round dropping ??? into their tea's :rotfl:
he wasn't pushy, he was a local chap and said to mum , when she was ready IF she chose them then they would act for her.
whilst he was mooching the garden she said "sod it im gonna sign" !! so with the understanding that she was going nowhere till she got a flat ... she signed.
so from a chat to signing in 5 hours !!:rotfl:

I kept saying was she sure and she said she wants to do it before she CANT do it...

sun has shone all day here :D

Gorgeous day, weather-wise here - although whilst I was on weeding and watering duty, poor old DH spent the greater part inside packaging some of the eighty-odd items sold over the weekend.....best weekend ever on *the bay* with sales in excess of £3k :D

We did manage to escape for a brief break to an excellent nursery about ten miles away, arriving close to closing time so not enough opportunity to explore thoroughly, but they certainly appeared to live up to their claim of stocking (and growing) some of the more unusual, rarely seen specimens. Only bought a few bits (boring stuff - scabious, rhododendrons, clematis etc), but did buy some rather lovely - and extremely unusual - planters and plan to go back for more unusual plants (and pots ;)) when time allows......

Had a lovely day by the seaside yesterday.....DS's eleven week old puppy is sooooo cute :A

Haven't even been reading what everyone has been up to so apologies if anyone has been poorly or life is not too good at the moment.

Had a very busy week last week with my three strapping grandsons staying. They can eat for Britain - hollow legs!

My poor garden has been somewhat neglected and as the sun is shining very brightly today is garden day. Lots of deadheading to do and general tidying up. Although I always have something flowering, this is the down time until I start planting the summer bedding.

Think we have our hedgehog back. The food is being eaten and there have been a couple of poos found in the garden but no actual sighting of spikey.

Still a touch of frost in the mornings but once the sun is up it is lovely and warm.
