Goodness, it's bloomin' cold for March.
Old dog is very stiff atm, think we are going to have to take her back to the vets again to review her meds. Possibly a change from the Previcox anti inflammatory. We have upped her Gabapentin pain killer but it hasn't helped as much as I hoped it would.
Daft as a brush lurcher is happily sleeping on the bed with Mr BD keeping him company in his flu ridden fug. Found some LemSip in the cupboard, but went out of date 3 years ago - and travelled through 3 houses in the processIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Well, so long as it hasn't travelled through 3 digestive systems, I reckon it will be OK.
Yes, parky here overnight, but no sign of the rain we were threatened with yesterday, which fell on me when I was elsewhere. I think Dartmoor got in the way.0 -
yep cold last night and this morning, we had the fire going, just couldn't get warm...
looks as though its going to be a sunny one today..on days like this I wish I could be at the ranch all the time..

Yesterday I had some good news at the hospital. This is a pretty rare event, so it caught me a little by surprise
. However the trek up there left me a bit tired and I slept away the rest of the day. I'm almost recovered today but taking it easy as this is my quietest day this week.
It's so COLD here this morning too. Feeling the difference since I turned the heating off its automatic programme. kiwi is going in to the shearers this morning, where they are going to try and turn him back from sheep into dog. No garden news.
Oh, apart from......weirdly dry. I wonder even if we are heading to drought this year here. I don 't think I've ever known such a dry winter and spring in this corner of the world ...not just this house bit, but the other parts I've lived in.0 -

I was just thinking that at the weekend when I was planting stuff too late; the water only goes on at the beginning of April on the plots and I could have done with watering the blueberries.
No rain water in the barrels; lots of cloud but very little rain.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Pleased to hear you had some good news at the hospital LIR
xxx
Had a call from my mum's nursing home this morning to say she had passed away - they don't know the cause as yet so there will have to be an autopsy.....obviously she had severe Alzheimer's and had lost masses of weight over recent months, but otherwise seemed set to last some time. When we saw her last week she was completely oblivious to our presence and we remarked that she was deteriorating.....but nonetheless the call was totally unexpected. Tbh though all we are feeling atm is relief......
Weather here was lovely first thing, but now freezing cold & bucketing down......Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Phoebe, so sorry to hear about your Mum. My Mum has Alzheimer's too which we find difficult to cope with.
LIR, pleased you have had good news healthwise.
Quite a frost here this morning but the sun is shining brightly. Spotted my first ladybird having a sunbathe. On the look out for the return of my hedgehog. Have had one visiting (and being fed) the last 3 years.
Off to Ireland this afternoon for a week's child minding.0 -
