Was bright and sunny here first thing too, so we've spent a few hours outside cutting back, clearing and spotting things coming up that we weren't aware of......ooer missus
Also planted some potted shrubs etc brought with us from the last house, including some rather spindly golden bamboos that we purchased about three years ago and never got round to planting - good to finally get them into the ground
Our two mad dogs have been wreaking havoc - diving in and out of the raised pond, then *doodle dashing* (even though one's a Spanish Water Dog, not a Labradoodle, lol!) round the upper and lower lawns with various bits of pond plant dangling from their mouths......loons :rotfl:
The rain has arrived now though and it's still pretty breezy. Snow is also forecast, but doubt we'll get any here......hope not anyway.
Toasted sausage and apple sandwiches by the fire to look forward to later - yum
Keep safe and warm guys xMortgage-free for fourteen years!

Quiet on here, you all must be very busy
Chilly this morning, but the wind has really died down.
Mr BD treated himself to a hudl which came on Saturday and he loves. It's very good value for the price and he has spent most of the weekend playing with it, when he wasn't panoting that is. Was the last night of the panto on Saturday which apparently went well.:):)
Looks like this is going to be a quiet week at BD Central although a trip to Aldi on Thursday may be tempting as apparently they have little plug plant trays for £1.99.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Hope your tooth isn't too painful CTC
Wind has got up here and torn the tarp off the chicken coop.Still it was only a cheap and cheerful one.

They are so tough, it wouldn't have mattered if they'd taken a week.0 -
Just what I need - it's snowing!0

We had a sleety type snow earlier.
Well kitten cat had 2 injections and I think I should have had gas and air at the pain of the cost lol....
I piddled myself laughing earlier.. Reason is I have started entering loads of competitions, and I got told tonight I had won a £40 worth of meat that includes....sausages, pork steaks, and bacon lol...from a local producer/butcher.
There were nearly 600 people entered...
Won a pair of oven gloves on fb too last month with ,I love pork on them..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Wonderful CTC - found a good home. You'll be porked out.
Heavy snow & we went over East for hay & a pick up of unit with a couple of guys with a van - just a long heavy day & more snow. Didn't get in until after 7pm after rushing round doing he sheep stuff when we got back & feel totally jiggered now...................0 -
Well, our snow here amounted to a handful of flakes between bursts of glorious sunshine so we made the most of the weather - once all the ebay parcelling up had been done - working outdoors.
I've been attacking the rampant Ivy that took hold over parts of the garden whilst the house was on the market and have unearthed several large and very attractive red *ornamental* rocks that were completely hidden......very pleased with those
DH has been digging and preparing to plant more of our *stuff* transported from our previous (larger) garden. These are plants that were in huge planters on our terrace, but which can now go in the ground, although some we will keep in the planters - there are around fifty (plus smaller pots) - otherwise I'll be wanting to buy more things just to fill them again
Still need to prune the very large hydrangeas that we inherited when we bought this place as well as the rather overgrown buddleias, of which there are also quite a few
Did discover that the guy that fitted our new fence when we'd just moved in ballsed up a bit and built the fence the wrong side of a couple of our trees - there was an old holey wire fence along the boundary (still in place) and we knew he would have a bit of an issue securing the garden for our dogs without taking down all the trees as some are right on the boundary.
However, instead of fitting the fence behind said trees, in one place he's placed it in front of them effectively trapping them between the two fences - both ours. This only became apparent as we cleared the pile of carp in front of the fence in that spot  Don't really want to call him back as I wasn't keen on him and thought he'd ripped us off over the price anyway - gullible Southerners and all thatEqually I don't want to leave it like that - especially as next door is for sale - don't want someone buying it then taking our trees down, so looks like it'll be be me and DH putting his botch up right......grrrrr!
Edited to add - pleased to hear Mr BD's panto was a success BD.....really wish my DH would get involved with something similar - in particular I'm sure he'd take to all the cross dressing. There used to be a pic of him in tights and a short tunic on the wall in the pre-prep at DS's school - and very fetching he looked too - all the other mums thought so! Not to mention the fact he was wearing (a lot of) make up the night we met, lol!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!
