Panto talk in February? It is a long road for dame twanky?

We daydreamers save the best 'till last :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You don't get the same quality of knicker dropping in panto's earlier in the season ;)

Much milder today a balmy 8 degrees :D although dull and damp, but you can't have everything.

The moulting hen is now looking very smart in her new fluffy knickers and lovely ginger feathers. It appears her flight feathers have also been replaced as she has taken to flapping out of the run. She was energetically chasing a pheasant away from the seed I had put down for the birds earlier.
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

hi all..... im sat in my lounge with various coloured materials draped around to try and choose a colour for the wall/walls. i love rich reds/blues/golds etc but this room is big ! it has patio doors with slim window attatched either side plus another large window , all south facing so sun ! streams in. what i dont want is a deep cosy lounge at night with curtains closed and a dull garish look daytime !!:o i feel like its 2 rooms at the moment with a wrap round sofa one end and another the other end  BUT i need to be close to the fire...;) so how do i bring the room together ?? im trying to get some curtains that a friends daughter has... they are navy blue and dark red tartan/check. she doesnt know if she wants to part with them tho :( i also have to sort out my sun room so it looks like a room and not a wharehouse ...... so im going out instead :rotfl: got to post some parcels... bluddy cold here . dry but cold... bbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. stay safe y'all

Could you zone the room with colour Alfie? Maybe bringing most colour in with fabrics and rugs, but have some strong colour on the walls but only in certain areas?

Have you considered / would you consider a saffron colour? It would be cosy and glow at night and sing in the summer light. Think Morrocan and Mediterranean yellows and golds. In the summer you could sling up some light white curtains ...I'm sure any you would find are nicer than the linen ones I have....antique sheets for example would be lovelier than my ikea curtains, for and in winter soft furnishings in jewel colours would sing and glow.

I'm ok I think. I've decided on fabric for Kitchen, so just need to buy the stuff now. ( why can't we love something less expensive for the room with most windows ???) . I haven't decided how I want them. I don't want fussy, just simple panels, but can't decide on whether to get really nice poles or to have simple pelmets. If we have pelmets they'll not be fabric ( all though it would look better style wise) because the fabric is a dry clean only velvet and the fly spotting in summer will just be untenable I think....which its why I'm dithering, as a simple pelmet would be my first choice ....with the white curtains in summer and the matching curtains / blinds in winter.

And chosen stuff for study blinds too, beautiful stuff, also delay because I think it has to be roller blinds to as not to make a seam in the beautiful fabric , which is almost a piece of art depicting a landscape, but I can't quite come to terms with rollers as widow dressings in a proper room, and whether we can line / interlined them, or how else to let these window dressings be easily used simple panels.
