Oh, goodness LIR - what can you do about it?

Well, up till now I've been shoved pillar to post between consultants. Since last year I have been being referred for a surgery but there have been some delays in the process. Its not terribly straight forward regretfully. Its all about measures to live with, rather than cures for this sort of thing. I'm just fundamentally broken it seems. ;)

I should have brought more so you all could have had some :o. I was quite chuffed with that Christmas preserve. Not sweet at a time of year where everything is ott sweet, but spicey. I can imagine the three wise men having it on their toast all fragrant and dark and deep.

Ah, thanks choille, but...its not your fault ;)

Better me than someone with kids or a less good partner in life. Better this than many other illnesses. :)

Um, I dunno. Fir is an amazing husband, He couldn't do more for me tbh. I have a mixture of private and NHs health provision. Some is good some is rubbish. We just had to make a complaint to the medical centre about some stuff, and my GP, who is very kind but disorganised and inefficient called to day to apologise and go through some stuff. I feel the health system struggles a lot with rare chronic conditions with no quick fix. I feel quite alone with it. My neurologist hasn't asked to see me for ages ( which is fine as I HATE her ) but I had an MRI last year showing some progression not just in my brain, but also impacting on other parts of my body.

I don't claim any state support. Ip we are in a position where we can support ourselves. While it might be nice to get money for being insufficient if I take it when we don't need it than there is less in the pot for others.

However I have after years avoiding it, applied for a blue badge as I just don't get out enough ATM, and I've finally accepted if I have it and feel fine I don't need to use it, but if I do need to use it I can. It will mean I can do things like book appointments at a dentist.....which I haven't done for fear of being too crook on the the day :o

Self seeds in the gravel here and travels a bit, but I'd be wary of feeding it to chooks, as it looks slightly alien, though it might well be harmless.

Give it time. Ours took a while before re-appearing reliably. :)

We have seedlings coming up in pots in the front garden already. But no signs at lottie yet. Prob just as well, as it's in the same bed as primroses and agapanthus by our pond (old bath). And some geraniums (the ones that aren't pelargoniums) which I should weed while dormant so get a chance to get a bit more couch out! <roll eyes smiley> :rotfl:

No chance of working outside here, so finished off some tiling and fitted motion-activated downlighter in kitchen. For some reason, the previous owners had just left the strip above the cooker

Anyhow, I think it looks better now:cool:

So glad you have finally got Blue Badge LiR. :j It really can make such a difference.

I do claim DLA, but suspect will lose it when get swapped to PIP even though I can barely walk to the end of our front path and back (prob around 10 metres or less). I have a Motability car, and it is a godsend to me - it's a Renault Scenic, and the height is helpful to get in and out of. While I can just about get into a standard car it's such a struggle I couldn't do it on a regular basis. For me a "regular basis" is maybe twice a week on a good week. Some weeks I don't leave the house at all. These days I'm pushed to actually get up and dressed unless I have an appointment (mostly dentist currently  ).

Oh, just looked out the bedroom window, and the lights across the Mersey are really reflected beautifully in the river. :) Must be very still out there. And saw a couple of ships on the river earlier today - mostly chemical/oil tankers going to and from Stanlow. It's such fun to see the ships going by, even though they're too far away to see detail... I use this site for Mersey Shipping to find out what they're called and where they're going.
