    ...

Oh CTC, how horrid. Hugs to you and your OH. Just let me know if you want me to delete this, but just wanted to send you some friendly support.
  • yes they are a property company.. they are very cloak and dagger with what they are going to do with the factory/land..

I am now shouting at hubby, telling him he should have listened to me about selling the house last year, and we would not be going through this..

Leaving a Very bitter taste in my mouth about the last few years of living n this house... along with what we went through re-supermarket...

So when I go up the ranch later.. the way I am feeling now.. that is my home from now on, and I and I don't want to be anywhere near this place....

Report them & get an incident number - ask for one.

It sounds very imtimidating indeed, but try & not give up owt as that's what these people are wanting by the sound of it - free reign. Try & always have witnesses - more folks about that can be there at all times. Take photos.
  • choille, done that, had the police here Saturday, and reported the abusive phone call I had Friday night off them, and then they told us it would e criminal damage I they touched our stuff even though it is on their land.. today the same policeman came out, and said nothing they can do, its a private matter..

We had used the land for 20 years.. ok we were going. in a few months.. ( they didnt know that),

Just don't want to see the smug twonk...

feel like sending them a ccj for the cost of our sheds...

move on I think... and get out of here ASAP...

Well - if you can let it go then probably best, but don't let them think they can bully you out of your house & home. It could be that they may want to devalue your property & they are going about that the right way.

Could you phone their boss? - if it's a large company then the CEO & let them know that this is all a bit bully boy tactics. Don't know if that would be an option.

Where OH got the hay from they've lost three Velux's two solar panels & half a huge byre roof, but they will store a big hay bale for us - which is a real problem solver.
Speaking to OH now as he's making the tea!

The use must be continuous for 20 years. Only then will rights to use the land be acquired. It is essential that at no point during the 20 years was permission granted................................. The law states there is an easement if the use over that 20-year period is of ‘such character, degree and frequency’ that a reasonable person in the position of the owner of the relevant land should know the right to use it is being asserted. .............. which means that if at no time during the 20+ yrs of use you were verbally or written "given permission" to use the land you can claim an easement ... did you ask/talk to owner about the land? and is it OVER 20 YRS?

Not much I can add, except that the big business guys are making it easier for you to break with the past and move on. As you're thinking, it's probably not worth expending precious energy on them.

It also shows how importantly they view their new acquisition, so who knows whether they might be potential buyers when you decide to sell. You don't have to love 'em any more than we approved of the child abuser who part-owned this place. Didn't meet him. Didn't want to. It was just a business transaction.

Alfie, I think CTC knows quite a bit about adverse possession. More than me, at any rate! :)

OF COURSE IF YOU WERE BELIGERANT..... like me ;) and you fit the criteria, i would mention this to owner and suggest that they reimburse you for your sheds or you will take legal action ....:p you dont have to of course but the law is the law... sometimes if they think they could lose the use of that bit , it could hold up thier plans  ;) cos they cant touch it if action has started... this is purely to get "pay back" and P them off but of course they dont know your giving it up/moving ;);).... of course also none of this is relevant if its not fitting the criteria...:( 20+ years, no owner contact ....
