Daydream fund challenge part 4

DW had a phone message today, allegedly from the bank to say there was a suspicious payment logged against her account. She rang the reply number and it was all very convincing, but when it came to "going through security" I smelled a rat and asked to lady to prove she was from the bank first. I'll give it to her, she remained very calm as I kept firing questions at her, but no way could she prove a thing. Eventually, she lost it a little, but ended by agreeing we should check her number on their web site before going further. We were in the polytunnel. We checked. It was all a scam. There was no suspicious payment. Be on your guard.4

We get the odd call from Scammers usually with terrible Indian accents and a very crackly line or one of those automated ones urging you to press either 1 or 2. So obvious that you wonder why they bother. But thanks for the heads up.
We have another lovely bird bobbing around that I'd never seen before - like a wag tail but yellow but seems it's a grey wagtail according to my googling. It looks as if it's collecting nest material so that is a good sign.
Still a bitter wind about so cowering indoors mostly as it's eye watering outside. I hope we haven't killed the trees we planted yesterday. Must finish off the veg bed - slower than slow at the digging thing this year.5 -
That chill wind is coming all the way down here till Sunday. So many trees and bushes have been disfigured by the frosts, but I suppose they'll recover. We have both grey and pied wagtail here. The grey seem to like water and they're very smart-looking.Met the new stream-side neighbour today and he seems OK, though we wait and see nowadays! He's planning to keep chickens down by our mini wood, where he's erected a big scaffolding cube. Apparently, he found the scaffolding and decided it would make something, which it might, but it sounded like he had the chicken idea after he'd built it! I hope he's not going to be one of those 5 minute wonder types, who flit from one project to another. I have my suspicions.....

Yes, Mr Wagtail is very dapper looking. I'd never seen one of these before - we have the pied ones but never one of these.
The new neighbour may just be playing at the moment because he's not used to all that outside space? Just a bit overwhelmed with all the possibilities?
Still a bitter breeze blowing through. Supposed to get warmer over the w/e again.
The bluebells are all coming through and thick where I've cleared the bracken off.5 -
Lots of bluebells near us 💜💙

Still from the video my DH took of the otter feasting on what we thought was an octopus 💙

I can only offer goldfinches eating the aphids on the aquilegias this morning....(shot through a window at 50' distance, so not wonderful!)6

Our bluebells aren't just up as yet. The wood looks lovely, the path wending on and the smell is terrific when they come out. Next couple of weeks and we should have a good show. Same with aquilegias - Grannies Bonnets - they are nearly flowering. Lovely photos everyone. The otter with the octopus is an amazing capture on film. The goldfinches is a great shot Dave.
Everyone takes lovely shots on here.
Overcast and grey again & quite blustery but doesn't feel just as bitter out and about.
I may be getting a new arrival of the feline kind that is looking for a new home. I haven't met him but am going on his CV and photos. It's quite exciting but slightly daunting too.5 -
Aaaarrrggghhh! We've fallen off the front page!No time now to write an epistle and I'm not normally one to go in for petitions, but this one caught my eye:You don't need to pay anything.

Yes, the animal welfare post-Brexit is a worry. I do always try & buy British meat & dairy because our welfare standards are so much higher than many other places including Europe.
There's a chance that stuff will be slid in the backdoor with eyes being off the ball at the moment.
Just vaccinated the sheep and gave them a pedicure and pour on for the biting stuff this afternoon and jiggered and I've not got that many - feeling my age today.
Dull and overcast but milder and the winds dropped.5
