Britain has turned into a very different place than the one I grew up in.

According to this thread, stoning someone is OK (in fact it's what we all want, apparently).

However, protecting your territory (and the people who live there) from an invading force is wrong and so is having a car number plate that offends said invaders.

If the car had been in the Falklands it's pretty unlikely that the TG team would have been "thrown out of Argentina by state officials" or had "thousands chased crew to border" (quotes from http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29488770) given that the Falklands are not in Argentina and do not have a border. So using a bit of common sense would have led you to realise that, deliberately or not, the OP was obviously incorrect.

I know, and I'm inclined to agree with you, but it stands to reason that a car with that registration in the Falklands is not going to cause any sort of incident.
