Hi I am sad to say that I am scratching at my EF again. The good news is that it is because I am waiting for a refund for a bill I had the money to pay with out. The EF is doing it's job.

Hi I just stashed some money in my EF so it is now about £350. Is it a silly idea that every time I get to £1000 i put £500 in my housing deposit? Moahaha doesen't that sound grand. I am trying to get used to the idea of having savings that are just for the idea of saving! I love this thread.

  • Had £25 birthday money so have put that into my EF.  It's taken me over the £1,000, now at £1,007 in my premium bonds account, and still have my December DD to go out early next week!  So happy that I finally got some savings behind me, especially in these uncertain times.

  • Hi

#300 reporting in with Emergency Fund balance of £1,103.71/£1,000.00.

I’m really pleased I’ve finally reached the £1,000 mark and will be trying to build it up further over on the 3-6 Month Emergency Fund Challenge, to my initial target of £5,000.

  • #293 checking in after a long absence.  What a year 2020 turned out to be! :o Have been mainly focussed on chipping away at the CC debt recently but had quite a bit of overtime in Nov so have managed to round my EF to a pleasing £500.

I had to borrow £50 from my EF to pay for a chimney swipe as my fire wasn't drawing but atleast I had it. I"ve added £60 in today so I've added £10 which is better than nothing.

  • Number 304 checking in with £800 / £1000. Should be there by February. As my fund is in a savings account that has a quarterly prize draw attaches, I will continue to add between £50 and £100 per month once I’ve reached the £1000 target.

Sadly not been able to put anymore in this month. Starting next month I am determined to save a £1000 by the end of next year. Have done it once and it’s a great feeling when you reach it.
