  • £3.88 into EF due to rounding down left over balance before payday. Think I've got another £50 to go into it in the next 2 weeks though I may use that to pay off a bit of credit card.

    Sitting at £121.35 just now.

I'm starting to get addicted to these challenges. I want to get my £1000 EF by end of 2015 (if not before)

Just put £15 of fuel into the car and YNAB said I had £37.60 left in the budget so have transferred the odd £2.60 over to the emergency fund. That leaves £20 for next weeks petrol which is more than enough to see me through to payday on Friday.

    EF now at £337.25 :D

  • Great idea for a challenge, patman. Just found you, late to the party as ever:o

I'd love to join your group please and expect to be here for the long haul. Have mountains of debt which I'm paying as fast as I humanly can on a DMP. Through miscalculation on my part (aka being unrealistic:o) I've committed to paying out more on debt-clearing than I can comfortably afford but seeing the debt going down steadily I don't want to pay any less each month now.

I now find I'm in the same boat as I was pre-DMP, having to 'rob Peter to pay Paul' towards the end of every month just to survive. I do a few odds and ends to make a bit of extra but this is currently just being used to get to the next payday. I have no emergency fund whatsoever and being on a DMP have no credit cards or bank overdraft any more:eek:. The smallest emergency is a nightmare (e.g. my car failing it's first MOT ever and needing a new exhaust.....not much in the general scale of things but having to find £120 in a hurry was scary).

Not sure how often and when I can add to my 'pot' but will do my best and will take great encouragement from everyone else's efforts.

    Good Luck everyone:beer:
  • Good morning :)

Welcome carbootcrazy. You are #41. Every little helps as they say.
Had a big spending day yesterday, had to fill up the car. Mind you, I won't need to repeat this for at least 3 weeks.

If you are on a DMP (we hope you are using one of the free services such as 'Stepchange' or 'Payplan' rather than on of the scamming commercial operatives) and are struggling still, then speak with your DMP provider and drop your monthly payments.
I am also on a DMP and pay £1 each month to each of my 6 creditors.
    Never Knowingly Understood.
