Spoke to the credit union today - I'm up to £155. I put up my contributions from this month so will hopefully get to the target a bit quicker :)

All appears to be going well.
Am very hopefull that I will get all my banking stuff before the month end so I can do my usual £1 test tx to make sure all details are correct prior to shifting my entire EF across.

As this will be in excess of the £500 per month required to be deposited, I won't need to do a quick in/out until after I am paid.

Looks like TSB have accepted my application. Have got part of my online access code via email and another email contained my sort code and account number.

Looks like I'm on the way to 5% interest.

This also opens up access to an additional 5% savings account that you can setup once you get your logon details. I'd only use this once you hit your £2000 5% threshold in your current account though.

There are other bonuses available with this account but the purpose (well mine anyway) is to save money.

    BTW, I'm up to £329/£1000.

    Hi all,

whoop whoop, i shifted £20 across to my savings account and now have £1000 sitting in my emergency fund.

Over the year or so i have seen it go up and down but i have chipped in slowly and steadily and now its there just sitting there keeping me safe warm and happy. whoo - hoo!! (i am almost ashamed to say that this is the most i have saved in my life!)

    Cheers andy.

  • Hi all

I have been a bit AWOL but have been squirrelling my pennies away and now have my EF back up again.

Don't forget to put your clocks forward tonight. Good news for those on night work.

Only 5 days to payday. TSB account now contains my EF and I am starting to fill-up holiday fund.

Next expense will be a 2nd-hand trailer from ebay and a trailer board from Screwfix.
I have to shift an awful lot of rubbish from my mum's, so a trailer works-out cheaper than a skip and is easier than loads of trips to the tip.
Plus, I can do the trailer up and sell it on when I have finished with it. If I get it right, i should make a nice profit.

    Hey Patman,

There is an excellent money manager built into the TSB website. (and Lloyds for anyone that's interested) You can setup as many savings plans as you want and it tracks whether you are on target, gives a nice graph, pie chart of savings performance etc... they are extremely good and a nice way to track progress.

I did notice that, but as I have my main account elsewhere, decided it might not be as useful as it appears to be.
