  • Just had a boost to my EF now standing at £478.58 very happy with that :j
As of 24th August 2016 total money owed was
    £15,708
  • Oh yes , get in. EF JUST HIT £500 50% there :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

It's good to know now that if the SHTF I should have most emergencies covered, I'm still going to add to this to get to £1000 but probably a bit more slowly than it took me to get to the £500.

    FEELING CHUFFED :j

When you hit 50%, it really gives you a mental boost. It is a bit like reaching the top of a hill. You know the rest of the journey will be easier.

Now that my defaulted Barclays CCs have been sold on to a DCA, I can now start filling my Barclays account to create a 2nd ef which I have christened the 'van fund' just to keep it separate.

  • Hi All...

Just been paid and managed to deposit the last £250 into my ISA for my Emergency Fund...

    :)Total Saved : £1000.00 :)

I'm hoping this challenge will run again as I want to now save another £1000.00 ready for a deposit for next year's ISA (I'm going to get a 'Help to Buy' one) but want to keep this money saved separate.

Keep up the good work folks!!!

  • Hi there,

Could I join this challenge please? I'm fairly new to DFW, I have no access to credit and £0 savings  This is a scary position to be in with 3 kids and a house and car to run. I'm sure being part of this will give me the motivation I need to put money away, no matter how little.

    Great idea :j

Welcome stormpassing. You are member #134.

Abundant, the thread won't stop running just because I reached my target. In fact, I am aiming for the same again in another Bank account with another Bank.

I'm sure you'll find members friendly, supportive and motivating so anything you want to know please ask:)

I know exactly where you're coming from with zero savings and no access to credit, it's a scary place to be as you say:(. But keep at it, there is light at the end of the tunnel, even though it's a very long tunnel;)

Thankyou carbootcrazy for the words of support and encouragement :) Really makes a difference when you are at the beginning of that long tunnel, but at least there is now a speck of light a long way in the distance :j
