It seems to me that there was a great opportunity for Devere to salvage, in a small way, their battered image by removing the signs as they said they would. I doubt they have done this from my reading of the posts thus far.

They need an image consultant but I think it may be too late. I don't know why most of these companies think they have to behave like idiots. When you call the council after receiving a ticket, their phone manners are different. Call Devere and see how they treat you. It's apalling.

Kick them where it hurts (brand image, reputation and money) and keep us in the loop on this one. I hope the professional bodies and the DVLA who allow data access take note. I would go back to check each of their contracts going back years, will be surprised if we don't hear a similar story.

Will they voluntarily offer refunds to those at these premises, of course not, but that's fatal self blow number two!

I agree with you all but if you had to take arms length view, they are as popular as...complete in your own words. If there was a hell for private car parking companies, just based on their bad attitude and aggressive tactics, Devere would be there :-)

No, it was this audio file in the Echo. I'm wondering if the current 'story' will make the Echo as it's getting a bit cold or perhaps the Echo hacks are doing some serious investigative journalism. Oh hang on, it's being going on under their noses for years and Devere are the good guys when they or Castlepoint plant stories like this.

Victims have to come forward and be prepared to be photographed looking grumpy, preferably with their arms folded.

It may not have been Devere but I thought it was Watchdog who once had an audio of a phone call with a Parking Firm idiot and they did a cartoon to go with it. The voice was of a snidey old guy, hence why I thought of it.
