I don't see why.
Currently, us lay-reps are amateurs, but we supply a professional service.
Hopefully, in the future we will be professionals providing the service under the supervision of an authorised person.0 -
I read your initial message as saying you enjoy what you do, do it well (hence the good results), professional or not, who cares.
I say long live to what you offer as there are people who benefit and need your help.0 -
The difference between professional or not is the amount of time we can spend on a case. Currently I do this in my spare time, and most of the documents are thrown together over dinner with Mrs BM, LLB.
The hope is that we can move some of the work to a full-time basis. Clearly for that, the lay reps have to start being paid a wage.0 -

Hello,
2 years ago I was fined by Devere for parking in the discovery court car park, and after a couple of months of me writing to them and them keep threatening me with more and more aggresive letters, I cut them a cheque to go away.
Following the above court case (which I was not aware of), last week I wrote to Devere saying I wanted my money back, and I have today received a letter saying that they 'do not keep records' and can I write again with details including date of payment and form of payment (cheque, card etc) and they say they "shall look int the matter and your request for reimbursement".
On all my letters, I have stated that if they waste my time, I will invoice them £25 per letter.
So do I:
a) just ask for my original payment back (which was the jist of my original letter, but they do not have the amount paid)
b) Now add on some £25 'fines' for the 5 or 6 letters that I have sent
c) Just ask for my original payment back PLUS interest (which wont b a lot, but its more of principle than the amount)?
Any advice?0 -
Yes. Stop hijacking multiple threads and start your own.
I have PM'ed the board guides to get this done for you so please do not post anything further until that happens. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
The only way you'd ever get anything back is by serving a MCOL and taking it through the small claims court. Writing to Devere is urinating windward. They won't pay you a penny of your 'fine' (no it wasn't, it was just a speculative invoice) back and even less likely a charge of £25 per letter.
It's as about likely them paying you £25 per letter as you paying me £25 for this advice.
Save your breath, get on with your life! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
