I didn't mention the inability to make unambiguous posts either

But lots of posters have mentioned the inability to give a thread an unemotional title that accurately describes the vent.....;)kwikbreaks wrote: »I quite like the constant sniping "Robbing Gits" is producing though - it keeps the thread at the top . It is by no means the only one either - just about anything not "on offer" can be bought far cheaper elsewhere. They import the same cheap tat that you see on eBay and price it way higher.
As for keeping 'the thread at the top meaning more people can see and, if they wish, check the excessive markup Maplin charge on that particular item', from the replies you've had it seems most posters don't agree with you so all it's doing is showing the flaws in your vent.0 -
Well it's up to posters to make up their minds on whether or not Maplins charging 3 times the price an item can be bought for elsewhere is fair but at least now some of them will know that they do (those with the ability to read which appears to be well less than 100%).0

I feel the need to explain, the whoooosh was for you.

I dont have a problem with Maplin or their charges, inevitably if something is cheaper elsewhere, I can always shop elsewhere.
I use Maplin for things like particular resistors or circuit boards, things my local Tesco or B&Q don't cover. I suppose I could order them elsewhere online, its just not practical if its for a 6p resistor I need there and then.
One could argue Curry's rip off prices for a hard drive, that you know you can buy cheaper on ebay, but whats the point when you know this much already?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

You only feel that need because you are unable to recognise sarcasm.
Don't say I won't bow to pressure though - title is now changed.0 -
I have no problem with that either. What I do find bad is them charging £30 for something other local shops sell for £12-15 and which is avalable on eBay at < £10.I use Maplin for things like particular resistors or circuit boards, things my local Tesco or B&Q don't cover. I always check pricing but some can't. Unforunately those people won't read this either because they either don't have the ability or cash to use the internet.0 -
To be fair though.....thats not just limited to Maplin's, The list is endless when it comes to guilty parties, even the supermarket price wars are testament to that, and thats just basic shopping.kwikbreaks wrote: »What I do find bad is them charging £30 for something other local shops sell for £12-15 and which is avalable on eBay at < £10.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

What about the free WiFi you can find somewhere in pretty much in any small town+ in the UK? Which in actual fact, will include any town a Maplins will be in anyway.0
